If you’ve been outside in Adelaide over the past few days, you’ve probably noticed the sky filled with fluttering white butterflies! 🦋✨

No, they aren’t Cabbage White Butterflies, they are Caper White butterflies on their spring migration. Unlike Cabbage Whites, Caper Whites have black borders on their wings with vibrant yellow and orange underwings.

Thousands are flying south from inland breeding grounds, hitching a ride on warm northerly winds across SA and eastern Australia.

They can travel thousands of kilometres searching for caper plants to lay their eggs.

Tonight we watched a movie called: Best Summer The Best Summer

It is part of the Adelaide Film Festival and is a video diary of a music festival called Summersault which toured Australia in 1995. I went to the Adelaide show and it blew my mind.

The film brought back many memories of a time when punters watched bands with their whole being, rather than recording momemta with their phones or chatting to friends. It was one of the best festivals ever and I am so thankful I had the chance to relive it.❤️

On a recent trip to the Flinders, we saw this Emu amongst Salvation Jane (Patterson’s Curse).

The vast swathes of purple catch the eye, but it’s a notorious invasive w**d that causes real trouble for local ecosystems and agriculture. It is, however, providing food for various fauna, Heliotrope moths.

Last night was a fun evening celebrating the launch of Nature Festival and the incredible Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition from Wildlife Photographer of the Year at Adelaide Botanic Garden Bicentennial Conservatory Botanic Gardens Sth. Australia 🌿✨📷

Congratulations to all the photographers featured in the exhibition, but a special shout-out to the two outstanding young photographers: Jamie ‘Eagle Eyed Girl’ Smart and Alexis Tinker-Tsavalas - I am officially your new biggest fan! 👏🌟

It was great catching up with friends old and new and sharing ideas on how we can help more people connect with nature.
