We are pleased to announce that we have another Specialist Dyslexia Multi-Sensory Teacher joining us at Fullarton House.

Kirrily is a registered teacher with over 20 years of experience who specialises in English and English Literary Studies. She provides structured explicit learning sessions for students with dyslexia and dysgraphia using the Multisensory Playberry Dyslexia Program.

Kirrily also provides individual support with literacy across the breadth of the school curriculum for students up to Year 12, as well as support in developing executive functioning skills such as self regulation, organisation, working memory and motivation.

As an educator and parent of children with learning difficulties including dyslexia and dysgraphia, she understands some of the challenges that young people can face through their education journey.

Kay Bosworth, a highly experienced specialist literacy teacher and Director here at Fullarton House, is running a workshop on the Science and Craft of Handwriting on Monday 19th January. This workshop is for anyone who is interested. Kay is a fabulous presenter and this will be a terrific workshop with lots of practical strategies for improving children's handwriting. We are pleased to let you that we have another Specialist Dyslexia Multi-Sensory Teacher joining us at Fullarton House.

Jo Hirst has over 20 years of teaching experience, specialising in supporting students with specific learning difficulties. She is trained in the Multi-Sensory Playberry Dyslexia Program.

Starting in February 2025, Jo will be providing structured, evidence-based sessions focusing on reading, spelling, handwriting, and writing skills.

This workshop comes from my heart, and from lived experiences with family and clients. For too long neurodivergence has been defined by the stigma of deficits, disorders, disability, limitations and being broken. Today, science and the neurodiversity movement are showing us how to view these differences through a lens that offers, pride, strength, and hope. My mission is to explore this space. I want you to feel uplifted and liberated by this revolution!

Alison is a registered teacher with over twenty-five years teaching experience. She provides private support to assist students on their individual learning journey with effective and personalised learning engagements.

Alison provides explicit and structured tutoring sessions following the Multi-Sensory Playberry Dyslexia Program. Her focus is tutoring and coaching students with general literacy and executive functioning needs.

Dr Paul Swan’s School Friendly Playing Cards provide enjoyable math games to play at home or school. The games outlined in Dr Paul Swan’s accompanying books, help to develop number sense,: skills in addition, subtraction and terms less, more and equal. The card design has been developed to lower cognitive load and focus on the numeral and shapes representing the number.

The School Friendly Playing Cards and games are appropriate for children of preschool age to year 3. The cards are also recommended for older children struggling with mathematical concepts and can be used in an intervention setting for developing fluency in addition and subtraction.
