Hi my name is Tim, I am a Chemical Engineer and Scientist. I have over 8 years experience in tutoring and I am familiar with the current VCE syllabus for:

-Chemistry

-Maths Methods

-Further Maths

-Universitry Chemistry/Mathematics

- I teach students in Primary and Secondary school and in Tertiary courses (Prep - VCE - Uni)

- I also teach University students taking the following subjects (Deakin Uni SLE133, 155 Monash University CHM1011, CHM1022)

- Many of my students perform well in school and my senior students achieve great marks in VCE.

Many tutors just provide assistance with schoolwork problems or simply a homework help service.

However, I believe that effective tuition sessions are not only about "helping with the problems you that you have trouble with" but also about "identifying what you DON'T KNOW you have trouble with." as these will be the things that will catch students out in tests even when they believe they have studied everything on the topic.

My sessions are geared at supporting students by identifying these areas which will also allow even the top students to improve.

Furthermore with my detailed knowledge and experience with the syllabus, I can teach the course independently in accelerated learning so I can support the students who wish to get ahead. With the summer holidays coming up - this is the best time to get on top of VCE material. If you are in year 11 now - this is the best opportunity to get an edge!

The tuition fee includes access to learning materials and practice exams. I understand that every student learns differently so my teaching is personalised and with easy to understand analogies to explain concepts. Teaching is backed with notes that I have developed over the years and topic tests are provided to prepare students for their assessments.

REMEMBER, It is never too late to start improving your marks and tutoring will make a big difference even if you are in year 12 right now!

Progress can discussed with parents on a regular basis to inform them of the student's progess.

My classes are focused on:

-Strengthening understanding of current course material

-Highlighting potential pitfalls and common mistakes.

-Highlighting commonly examined test questions

-Developing exam technique - systematic approach to setting out questions and working to maximise your test scores

-Classes can be flexible to cover either or both maths or chemistry to the needs of the student.

Teaching rates start at $40/hr and will depend on the student's year level.
