Senshi Karate

Amazing 4 days at our annual Ish*tobi-Ha Sh*to-ryu Shukokai Karate Union Oceania Gasshuku and Gradings.
This year held in Aukland NewZealand at Tavita Sensei's club.
Congratulations to all the students who graded including Sensei Joshua!
A huge thankyou to Shinichi Mizoguchi Shihan for comming from Japan with his wealth of knowledge, skill and friendship!
Thankyou to Stephen Kelly Shihan, for his leadership and guidance and Craig Catania Shihan for his dedication to our union!
I dont even know where to start to thank Tavita Lefale Sensei and his wife Christine for the effort that they put in to make us all feel welcome, the community club they have created in New Zealand is amazing!
And as always a big thankyou to our Dojo heads who attended and made it what it was, awesome training and great fun!
I could not finish without a huge mention for Kazuo Ish*tobi Hanshi the reason we all do what we do!

Advanced Grading November 2025 !
Friday we had our Brown and Black belt grading, everyone on the mat gave there absolute best effort, and it was a pleasure to be a part of!
Congratulations to Dinuri and Arnav on achieving there Shodan Ho levels, you earned it !
Also well done to all the Brown belts going to there next level, as well our Purple belts attaining their Brown belt !
A huge thanks to our Sensei's and sempai's for helping make it a great evening !

What a big weekend with our SSU Victoria Dan Grading on Saturday followed by the Black Belt Grading Sunday.
Congratulations to Lee on achieving here Shodan and Danny, Myra and Mason on their Junior Shodans!

And welcome our New Black belt Ben Utting, who left nothing in the tank and created a memory forever!

Last night we had the pleasure of having Shihan Steve Stephen Kelly taking a seminar at Senshi Karate for our Advanced students !
Shihan covered Kihon and Bunkai related to the kata Karununfa, his energy in his teaching was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
Thankyou so much Shihan we look forward to seeing you again !
I would also like to thank our Vic Union clubs for all your energy this week in the seminars and Sensei Darryl Thornton and Sensei Simon Hunt for a great week together!
