This week, our Year 7–12 students came together for the Sacré Cœur Clothes Swap, organised by the Sacred Heart Mission Team.

Students exchanged pre-loved clothing with peers across different year levels, giving their clothes a second life while making a more sustainable choice. Any remaining items will be donated to local op shops, ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed by others. A wonderful example of our students putting sustainability into action!

Kit Kats are especially popular in Japan because the name sounds similar to the Japanese phrase: “Kitto Katsu”, meaning: “You will surely succeed,” making them a popular good-luck gift for students. Our Year 7 Japanese students were tasked with the Kit Kat Challenge - they were asked to come up with their own unique Kit Kat design.

Participants: Anvi, Saisha, Abby, Maggie, Sophia, Emma, Annuska and Simone. Lucky winners: Anvi (Best Design), Maggie & Saisha (tied for Best Flavour) and Emma (Most Australian).

Thanks for taking up the challenge, girls!

To conclude our Employability Series, our Year 9 students put their skills into practice by participating in mock job interviews. Students donned their professional attire and had the opportunity to experience what it’s like to take part in a professional interview.

A huge thank you to our wonderful staff members who generously gave their time to take on the role of interviewers and provide valuable feedback to our students!

1,000 paper cranes made by both Junior and Senior School Students are ready to be sent to the Hiroshima Peace Park in Japan. They will be laid at the base of the Children’s Peace Monument, alongside our heartfelt message to the people of Hiroshima:

With these 1,000 paper cranes, our Students send their hopes for a peaceful world. Inspired by the story of Sadako, we stand together in friendship, understanding and hope. May future generations live in a world free from war, guided by kindness, respect and peace.

We are proud to formally announce that Sacré Cœur has been named one of The Educator’s 5-Star Best Schools 2026, recognising our commitment to academic excellence, student wellbeing and the holistic development of young women.

The Educator’s 5-Star Best Schools recognises schools across Australia that demonstrate excellence and innovation across a range of areas, rather than focusing solely on academic results. This recognition celebrates schools demonstrating a broad commitment to student success and whole-school development. It acknowledges schools making a sustained impact, building positive momentum and demonstrating a strong commitment to preparing future-ready learners.

This award is testament to dedication and professionalism of our staff. Thank you for your dedication to Sacré Cœur and education.

We were delighted to welcome students and staff from Sacred Heart School in Tokyo to Sacré Cœur as part of our longstanding cultural exchange program. Students enjoyed a variety of fun and culturally rich activities together in both English and Japanese, sharing stories and insights about Australian and Japanese culture. Our visitors also enjoyed a tour of Sacré Cœur and shared a wonderful cultural dance performance with our community.

The visit was another special opportunity to strengthen the warm friendship that has developed between our schools over many years. Thank you to our visitors for sharing such a memorable experience with us!

What a wonderful evening celebrating the creativity and musical talent of our Joigny students!

With parents, families and guests there to enjoy the evening, our students took to the stage with great enthusiasm. The audience was treated to fantastic performances from the Joigny Choir, Bow Rock and Joigny Orchestra. A special highlight was seeing our Year 6 students light up the stage with their glow sticks as they performed and shone bright.

Congratulations to all our wonderful performers, and thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the Joigny Music Concert such a memorable evening.
