๐ Week 3 Wrap Up ๐
Our week began with students in Rooms 10 and 12 taking part in a Zero2Hero leadership incursion. Students explored what it means to be a leader, the qualities of effective leadership, and how they can demonstrate leadership both formally and informally within our school community.
๐ข Our Pre-Primary students have been using ten frames to strengthen their addition and subtraction skills, building confidence with numbers through hands-on learning. โโ๐งฎ๐ Room 1 has been investigating the features and layout of informative texts. ๐ Meanwhile, Room 4 discovered some amazing facts about starfish! โญ๐ Students learned that starfish- have two stomachs, can live for up to 30 years, don't have a brain or blood and love eating sea snails ๐
Over in Room 7, students have been developing their time-telling skills, learning to read analogue clocks to the minute with a focus on quarter past and quarter to. โฐ Angles have been the focus this week in Room 12! Students explored how to identify and measure angles in the world around themโincluding in nature ๐ฟ๐โand even got the chance to write directly on their desks! ๐คฉโ๏ธ
๐ญ On Thursday, our whole school enjoyed a wonderful performance by Dion, who shared stories, artefacts and traditions from his cultures. Students learned about Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal storytelling, song ๐ถ, dance ๐ and language, gaining a deeper appreciation for Australia's rich First Nations cultures. ๐ค๐โค๏ธ
๐ Today we celebrated Primary Principals' Day and recognised our amazing administration team for everything they do each and every day. ๐๐. They arrived to beautifully decorated office spaces ๐๐ and were presented with thoughtful cards and gifts from students and staff. One very special surprise was a book created by Room 1 titled What Our Principal Does All Day. ๐ According to our students, our Principal: ๐ Eats cake, ๐ Tells funny jokes in the staffroom, ๐ช Works hard, ๐ซ Cares for the school, ๐ Has dance parties in the office, ๐ Makes sure everyone is okay.
