Today, we proudly celebrate Ms Monica’s extraordinary 22 years of service at Aussie Kindies Glen Innes! 🎉

Twenty-two years of showing up for children. Twenty-two years of care, patience and encouragement. Twenty-two years of helping little ones learn, grow and find their confidence. ❤️

Across more than two decades, Ms Monica has been part of countless childhood moments—from comforting children as they settle in to celebrating their achievements and waving goodbye as they head off to school. The children she cared for at the beginning of her journey are now young adults themselves—what an incredible reminder of just how many lives 22 years can touch! 🌱

Our centre has seen many changes over the years, and Ms Monica has helped shape its story. Her years of experience, familiar presence and commitment are something truly special to celebrate.

Somewhere between the last day of leave and the first alarm of your new routine, going back to work stops being just a logistics problem - it's an emotional one too. If you're feeling relief, excitement, guilt and everything in between, you're not doing it wrong.

Here's what actually helps in those first few weeks:

🗓️ Book in trial days before your official start, so drop-off isn't a total unknown
🍼 Sort your feeding plan early, with your centre and your employer
💬 Talk to your educators early - the small stuff matters (comfort items, nap windows, the words your child uses)
💰 Know what's changed: since January 2026, CCS-eligible families get at least 3 days of subsidised care a week, guaranteed
🤝 Ask about flexible working before you're back, not after

🇦🇺 Flag Raising Ceremony at Aussie Kindies Glen Innes 🖤💛❤️

Today was a very special day for our Aussie Kindies Glen Innes community as we came together for our Flag Raising Ceremony, proudly raising the Aboriginal Flag, Australian National Flag and Torres Strait Islander Flag.

A heartfelt thank you to Glen Innes Severn Mayor Cr. Margot Davis - Mayor, Glen Innes Severn Council for taking the time to join us and be part of this meaningful occasion. We truly appreciated having you visit our service and share this special moment with our children, educators and community. 💐

We would also like to extend a very special thank you to our Regional Manager, Christy Sinclair, who travelled all the way from Coffs Harbour to join us for this important event. We are incredibly grateful that you made the trip to celebrate this milestone with us. ❤️

A big thank you to Barnaby Joyce MP Barnaby Joyce for sending us the three flags. We truly appreciate your support and contribution in helping us bring this meaningful project to life. 🇦🇺

It was a wonderful opportunity for our children to come together, learn about respect, belonging and the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the diverse cultures and histories that make up our community.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day 🌈🐍

This morning, our children arrived to a wonderful surprise as they were greeted by a beautiful Rainbow Serpent artwork created by Miss Thai. The children were full of excitement and curiosity as they followed the colourful design leading into the centre.

The Rainbow Serpent holds great cultural significance for many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and this special artwork provided an opportunity for our children to engage with and celebrate Indigenous culture and storytelling.

A huge thank you to Miss Thai and our amazing educators for creating such a meaningful and welcoming experience for the children as we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day. ❤️💛🖤💙💚🤍

🌿💛 NAIDOC Week Cooking Experience 💛🌿
Last Friday, our Senior and Preschool children had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a special NAIDOC Week cooking experience with a very special guest — India, Daisy’s mum.
The children were invited to make Johnny Cakes (fried scones), with those who chose to join in enjoying the process of mixing ingredients, flattening dough, and creating their own Johnny Cakes from scratch.
There was lots of excitement at lunchtime as the children tasted the Johnny Cakes they had helped make. It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience that encouraged participation, collaboration, and an appreciation of culture through food.
A big thank you to India for sharing her time and knowledge with us and helping make our NAIDOC Week celebrations so meaningful. We are grateful for opportunities like these that strengthen our connections with families and deepen children's understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
