Just a reminder that this Friday (April 10th) we have our excursion to Wayraparatee in Geeveston, where we will be joining in with their Out On Country playgroup session.

A free bus will leave Glen Huon Primary at 9:15, and return at 12:30.

If you prefer to drive yourself, you are welcome to meet us at Wayraparatee at 10am.

Welcome back to Seedlings for another wonderful year!
We will be starting back next week, with Bush Play on Wednesdays from 9-11 and Playgroup in the Kinder room on Fridays from 9-11.

Our theme this term is Being and Belonging - how we are each unique and special, but we also have so much in common with children all around the world. We will talk about friendship and co-operation, kindness and patience, and build our resilience together.

We hope to see you next week!

Urgent news - I'm afraid we have to reschedule our excursion from tomorrow morning to tomorrow lunchtime!

I know it's not ideal 😞 Although we had organised everything and cleared it with management, the Marine Discovery Centre has just been ordered to close tomorrow morning.

They have offered us a space at 12, so we have luckily been able to reschedule the bus to leave Glen Huon at 11:00, returning by 2:30.

I'm so sorry for the last minute change, I hope it works out for as many families as possible 🌈

Seedlings has a Seesaw page, which allows for more effective communication than Facebook - where our posts can get lost in the algorithm.

All Public Schools in Tasmania now use Seesaw to communicate each child's learning journey with their families. Seesaw is a safe, private app where information, photos, videos and messages can be sent home to families.

If you are currently enrolled in Seedlings, please check your inbox and spam filter for an invitation from me to connect with your child's account in Seesaw. There you will find term plans, photos of what we've been up to, and up to date information about excursions, cancellations and changes.

Due to the high winds now and overnight, Bush Playgroup will be moved indoors - we will set up an obstacle course and craft activity in the Hall from 9-11. Please bring a morning tea snack for your child :-)

Bush playgroup is starting up tomorrow for all of Term 4 this year, and Term 1 next year, while the weather is warmer!

Come along and join us for some wonderful nature play, we'll have a campfire and cook a tasty snack, look for bugs, use tools and build a shelter!

Today in Seedlings Playgroup we will be learning about dinosaurs! 🦖🦕🌋

Our sensory play activity will be playing with toy dinosaurs in some wonderful "mud" made from cocoa, cornflour and warm water!

This week's theme is invertebrates - garden friends, bugs and creepy crawlies of all kinds!

On Friday, families are invited to bring in any bugs they find, autumn leaves for leaf rubbings, or any excess fresh herbs for our sensory play!

On Wednesday we will explore balance in our gross motor skills session, then we will read a story and make some cute bugs to take home ❤️
