It's Children's Book Week!

Today, our kindy children brought some of their favourite book characters to life as they dressed up to celebrate Book Week 2026!

We loved their special visit to the office as they made their way around the school, proudly showing off their wonderful costumes.

What a fabulous way to celebrate the joy of books and reading!

We had some cute and cuddly visitors to our school yesterday!

Some of our junior students participated in the West Oz Wildlife incursion, where they had the opportunity to get up close with a range of native animals. The experience provided a hands-on learning opportunity while fostering curiosity, appreciation and respect for Australia's unique wildlife.

On Friday the 7th of August 30 students attended the HECS Interschool Cross Country event. We are proud of our student's resilience and how the strived to be their best. Congratulations to all participants.

We are incredibly proud of Ethan, Holly and Cooper for representing Glen Forrest Primary School in the Speak Up competition held in Doubleview this week.

Their preparation and willingness to share their voices in front of an audience was outstanding. Participating in public speaking takes courage, confidence and a good measure of resilience. They should be proud of their efforts and achievements.

👵 We've officially turned 100... well, school days anyway! 👴

Today our classrooms have been taken over by the cutest bunch of 100-year-olds you've ever seen! We've spotted walking sticks, pearls, cardigans, grey hair, oversized glasses, and enough wrinkles to make us wonder if nap time should make a comeback!
Our little grannies and grandpas have spent the day reminiscing about the "good old days"... you know, back when dinosaurs roamed the playground and pencils were made from tree branches!

Today, our school community came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week and recognise the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Thank you to everyone who participated in our ceremony and helped make it a meaningful occasion.

Our junior and senior students in Room 13 and Room 5 have been partnering up for Buddy Reading! Buddy Reading gives students the opportunity to build connections across year levels while sharing their love of reading. Our older students enjoy supporting and encouraging their younger buddies, while the younger students benefit from positive role models and extra reading practice. It has been fantastic to see the confidence and engagement growing each week.
