One of the wonderful programs offered to all Public Schools is the ability to borrow a range of STEM kits complete with teaching resources so I learn things too. This term we have borrowed the filming kit so that my little stars can have a try at being behind the camera for a change. So much fun! Watch this space for the completed work.

GAPS had a great day last Wednesday at the Mudgee Small Schools Athletics Carnival. All of that practice paid off with everyone bringing home ribbons. Stars of the day, Tim and Zeke, were age champions. As always, sportsmanship is the aim of the game and I'm pleased to report that the GAPS children demonstrated it in spades. Well done and good luck at the Zone Carnival next week.

It is our final day in Canberra and I think I have finally thawed out from yesterday. We started the day with a sunny but nippy look at Canberra from the Mt Ainslie lookout. The Australian War Memorial was amazing, so much to see. In the afternoon we had a wonderful time at the Corin Snow Park. I took photos with my camera so watch this space for those later on. Parliament House this morning and then we make tracks for home.

Canberra excursion day 2 wrap up and I’m pleased to report that there were plenty of proud teacher moments. The GAPS boys punched well above their weight with fast hands up and correct answers at the Electoral Education Centre and the Museum of Australian Democracy. I was so impressed by how much they had learned from last term. The trip to the Mint was so interesting and we made our own coins to commemorate 60 years of decimal currency. A trip to Kingpin for bowling last night was a great way to end the day.

What better way to start Term 3 than a Canberra excursion? Our drive here was filled with Eye Spy, I’m Thinking Of A Number, Would You Rather and much laughter. Questacon and the Australian Institute of Sport yesterday. Electoral education Centre, Museum of Democracy and the Mint today. I hope the boys remember everything we learned in our Government Unit of work last term.
