ROYAL SHOW | Day Two 🐂

Day 2 of the Royal Adelaide Show! All the steers weighed up well! With Whiskey, Wyoming, Wallaby, and Wise Old Man weighing 544kg, 466kg, 568kg, 554kg respectively.

Students also went to an education day where they learnt some important handling and fitting skills. Then had the opportunity to compete in some handling competitions.

Tomorrow brings on the Thomas Foods International competitions. Students will take steers out in their breeder classes to determine the best three to represent the overall breed at the show.

The led steer competition sees GHS not just going up against other schools, but also stud cattle farmers from around Australia.

ROYAL SHOW LED STEERS | Yr. 11 & 12s

The Gladstone High School Led Steers are in at The Royal Adelaide Show! 🐂🐂

What an adventure already! We’ve had some grumpy steers that have taken their time to get used to their environment.

The students have been working well as a team to get the pen all prepped and the steers looking show ready.

Everyone was at the show til 10pm last night with the steers having their final haircuts and washes for showing.

Today kicked off with the weighing of the steers!

Shout out to Mr Wren & Mat who are down there with them, and all of our other helpers along the way!

MNSEC 7-9 GIRLS FOOTY | Through to GF!

Woop, Woop! 7-9 girls won round 3 today - making it to the Grand Final!

How exciting! Thanks to all of our helpers! 👏👏👏

What a result for our MNSEC AFL 7–9 Girls! 🎉

The girls secured a fantastic 42–28 win over Banksia Park High School today, booking their spot in the GRAND FINAL! 💪🏼🏉

They’ll now head to Adelaide to take on the best in the state at Morphettville FC on Tuesday, 22 September. 🏆

Congratulations to all the girls on an outstanding effort, and a huge shout-out to our super coach Scott for getting them this far! 👏🏻

STUDENT SUCCESS | Tyler Ziepes 👏

Congratulations to Tyler for an outstanding achievement in the Grok Academy Beginners and Intermediate Python Coding Competitions!

Tyler showed incredible dedication, completing 41 questions in the Beginners and 32 in the Intermediate challenge, with a perfect score he showcased impressive problem-solving skills. He enjoyed the rewarding journey and is excited about the future career opportunities coding presents—everything from banking to cyber security.

🗓️ Tuesday, 8th September is an early closure. All buses run one hour early.

🗓️Friday, 11th September is a school closure day for the Adelaide Show. No staff will be onsite that day.
