Recently the St Stephen's Kindy team completed multiple training sessions on Key Word Signs. Key Word Sign (KWS) is important because it combines manual hand signs and natural gestures with spoken words to support communication.

Use this handy calendar to check when your child can start kindy, and be sure to approach your preferred kindy early about enrolment as many services have waiting lists.

Kindy is free 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year.

During our end of Term Messy Church we were surprised to receive this beautiful Ark made by the Gladstone Men's Shed.

The Ark is great addition to our Kindy space. The craftsmanship involved in putting this Ark together is just incredible.

Messy Church day at Kindy is always filled with excitement. Today we were joined by St Martins Lutheran Church and our Kindy families. Together we listened to the story of Noah and his Ark, participated in a variety of activities and learnt to trust in God even in the tough times.

Bush kindy provides dynamic social benefits by encouraging unstructured, nature-based play. Children naturally build empathy, communication, and conflict-resolution skills by collaborating on outdoor tasks. Uninterrupted time outdoors strengthens teamwork and helps them form deep, positive attachments with their kindy friends.

Today was our first day of Bush Kindy for the year. It was great to see children take risks and grow in confidence as they moved around their new playing and learning space.
