There's been a lot going on behind the scenes this year (more than usual) so it has delayed getting everyone locked into our systems for term 1. Intermezzo Music is expanding and we're looking for new teachers to start in 2026!

We have trainee through to advanced level positions available for piano teachers as well as welcome experienced teachers of other instruments/vocal. With Intermezzo growing at a rapid rate, now's the perfect time to join the region's leading music school.

So if you've ever considered a part time career in music teaching or are simply looking for some extra teaching work, we'd love to hear from you!

Introducing our half-yearly, pre-Eisteddfod concert for 2025.

We invite all musicians from the Gladstone Region to come and perform with us or supporters of the arts to come and watch.

Registration closes Monday 14th July - $12 per performer, per instrument. Maximum 2 pieces per instrument.

Tickets are $6 and programs $3 and both of these can be pre-purchased from our website or at the door on the day if space is available.

Looking to get into music lessons?

Here at Intermezzo, we offer two class types:

🎵Private piano lessons for 5 years and over, including adults (current availability on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for beginner students)

🎵Group Introduction to Music classes for 3 & 4 year olds, with class sizes kept to a maximum of 4 students (space available in our Wednesday afternoon 3:30pm class)

As one year ends and a new one begins, this is the perfect time for both reflection and preparation.

2024 was a huge year for Intermezzo in both the school and the syllabus:

Piano School:
*Moved into our new premises at the airport
*Bought a 2nd piano
*Welcomed in Ava, our new trainee teacher
*Grew our student numbers by 33%

Intermezzo Syllabus:
*Added Prep B exam level
*Welcomed 2 new music schools (including one in Brisbane)
*Welcomed new examiners

2025 looks to be even bigger and better with the following plans:

*Starting the year with at least a 20% growth in student numbers, welcoming up to 2 new teachers, including a potential branch in Brisbane for beginner students
*A new "Introduction to Music" group class for 3-4 year olds (capped at 4 students per class). The initial class will be 3:30-4pm Wednesday afternoons with Miss Maree
*2 performance opportunities with a 2nd end of year concert on offer both to Intermezzo students and the broader community as well as our early term 3 recital
*2 new grades to be released as part of the Intermezzo Syllabus - Grades 1 and 2
