Yesterday’s session: 4x195 conventional deadlifts and 4x165 paused (except for the one I paused at the knee, brain fade, my bad!).

Then I hit Zercher squats. Why? Because if I want to keep my torso rigid when the deadlifts get heavy, I need that core and upper back dialed in. Zerchers look simple, but trust me, they left me absolutely wrecked.

Finished with a back selfie, slowly shaving off body fat and feeling damn good.

Lately it feels like life has been testing a lot of people.

Plans falling through.
People walking away.
Unexpected setbacks.
Doors closing.

It’s easy to look at those moments and think life is happening to you.

But sometimes what feels like a setback today is actually protection, redirection, or preparation for something better tomorrow.

Keep showing up.
Keep your faith.
Keep moving forward.

The full story is rarely revealed in the chapter you’re currently living.

Everyone loves the final result.

The stage photos.
The conditioning.
The trophy shots.

But before any of that comes months of building.

More food.
More muscle.
More strength.
More confidence.

Excited to see where this journey takes her. 👊🏾🔥

One thing coaching has taught me over the years...

Behind every coach is a person.

A person with a family, responsibilities, stress, challenges, good days and bad days.

Yet every day they show up and do their best to help others move forward.

Not for recognition.
Not for praise.

Simply because they care.

I’ve always believed coaching is about more than sets, reps and meal plans. It’s about supporting people through the ups and downs, celebrating the wins and helping them navigate the tougher seasons of life.

We’re all human.

And sometimes that’s exactly what makes great coaching possible. ❤️

Life has been life-ing these past couple of months.

One hurdle after another. The kind of season where it’d be easy to throw your hands up, do the bare minimum, fall back into poor habits, and just go through the motions.

But that wouldn’t be practicing what I preach.

For me, training has never just been about building muscle, getting stronger, or chasing numbers. For the last five years it’s been therapy. A place to clear my head, process life, and stay grounded when things feel chaotic.

And honestly, I’m grateful this is my poison of choice.

The side effects? Better mental health, a clearer headspace, and the ability to respond logically instead of reacting emotionally.

So that’s been me lately.

Training.
Time with my kids.
Getting as much sunlight as possible.
Taking things one day at a time.

God bless. Stay strong.

It’s a hard chapter, not a bad life. ❤️
