๐Ÿ’— Are you due for a breast screen?

BreastScreen Queensland currently has appointments available in Gladstone and across Central Queensland, so this is a good reminder to check whether you โ€” or someone you know โ€” is due.

Breast screening is:
โœ… Free
โœ… Available for women aged 40 years and over who haven't noticed any breast changes
โœ… Especially recommended every two years for women aged 50โ€“74
โœ… No doctor's referral needed
โœ… Any colour Medicare card accepted

There are currently vacancies at Gladstone Hospital, as well as Rockhampton Hospital and the mobile BreastScreen service visiting communities across CQ.

There are also options for group bookings, before and after work appointments, and Saturday appointments.

And perhaps send this to a friend who might need the reminder too. ๐Ÿ’—

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Tuesday 11 August 2026

The Census is compulsory. Everyone in Australia on Census night must be included on a Census form.

Every five years, the Australian Bureau of Statistics counts every person and household in Australia. This is called the Census of Population and Housing. The next Census is on Tuesday 11 August 2026.

The Census form asks questions about your age, country of birth, cultural background, living situation, work and education.

In the Census, every answer matters to help us understand what Australia needs now and into the future.

Census data is used to inform decisions about transport, schools, health care, infrastructure and business. It also helps plan local services for individuals, families and communities.

Great to visit the Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct today and catch up with members of U3A Gladstone alongside Senior Constable Dominic Martin from the Queensland Police Service myPolice Gladstone Region

Dominic gave an insightful and honest rundown on whatโ€™s involved in being a police officer, including the many different roles, responsibilities and situations officers can face in a single day. ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

It was a really valuable discussion and a great opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the work our local police do to keep the community safe.
