⚓️ A wonderful recent visit to the Gladstone Maritime Museum and HMAS Gladstone for some of our Gladstone U3A members! 🚢

From fascinating local stories to maritime history and beautifully preserved displays, it was a great morning of learning, conversation and community connection. 😊💙

Great to visit the Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct today and catch up with members of U3A Gladstone alongside Senior Constable Dominic Martin from the Queensland Police Service myPolice Gladstone Region

Dominic gave an insightful and honest rundown on what’s involved in being a police officer, including the many different roles, responsibilities and situations officers can face in a single day. 👮‍♂️

It was a really valuable discussion and a great opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the work our local police do to keep the community safe.

🇫🇷🎂 Our Gladstone U3A French class finished the term with a special celebration for one of our students, Diane!

The group travelled out to Mount Larcom to enjoy lunch together at the Mount Larcom Hotel, followed by birthday cake and plenty of laughs.

A wonderful way to celebrate friendship, learning and community.

Behind every class, outing, morning tea, guest speaker and activity at Gladstone U3A is a group of volunteers working quietly behind the scenes to keep things running 📚😊

Our committee met again this week to organise upcoming activities, events and ideas for our members. U3A is completely community driven and it only works because people continue to give their time, energy and experience to it.

Not everyone made the photo this time, our President Liz and Gaye were away, and while Mike attended the meeting, he had already headed off before we remembered to take one 😄

A big thank you to everyone involved in helping Gladstone U3A continue to be a place to learn, laugh and live.

The museum showcases Gladstone’s rich maritime history, including harbour development, reef wrecks, relics, models and more. There is also the option to tour HMAS Gladstone for those interested.
