As we move into the season of backyard fire pits, campfires and toasted marshmallows, it’s a great time for a quick refresher on burns first aid 🔥

For serious burns or if you are unsure, seek medical attention immediately.

A little knowledge can make a big difference in an emergency while still enjoying all the cosy winter moments.

If an adult or child sustains a burn injury remember to remove, cool, cover and seek. Remove all clothing from the area, unless stuck to the skin and place the burn under cool running water for 20 minutes – then seek medical help.

Kirriri (Hammond Island) will stay with me for a long time 💛

Our Torres Strait study tour brought moments that were truly special — deep, genuine connections with the children and teachers at the local school, sharing stories, laughter, and learning together.

Walking up to St Joseph’s the community made church was something I’ll never forget. The history, the effort, the spirit of the place… it was incredibly moving.

And then, sitting alongside the children for our very first weaving attempt — learning, trying, and connecting through culture — such a simple yet powerful experience.
