At St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, we are proud to support our local St Vincent de Paul Society by donating warm clothing and food to help those in need during the colder months.
When we give what we can, we offer more than a donation. We offer a helping hand, a sign of hope, and a reminder that no one in our community is forgotten.

Yesterday our Year 2 Bilbies, Yabbies and amazing teachers Miss Russell and Mrs Watson gathered for a beautiful Mother’s Day Prayer Celebration, giving thanks to God for our mothers and all the special people who care for us.

The celebration was filled with prayer, song and reflection as students recognised the love, kindness, patience and care that mothers and mother figures show each day. Together, we thanked God for the many ways they help us grow, feel safe and know we are loved.

Students also reflected on Mary, the mother of Jesus, and asked for her prayers for all mothers in our school community.

“Blessed are you among women and blessed is the child you will bear.” (Luke 1:42)

It was a joyful celebration, made even more special as students shared their love through prayers, drawings and simple acts of gratitude for their mothers and special people.

We wish all our mothers, grandmothers and carers a very happy Mother’s Day and thank you for all that you do.

This morning, St John’s came together as a whole school to commemorate ANZAC Day through a special ceremony and prayer. It was a reverent time as we honoured those who have fought and served our country, remembering their courage, service and sacrifice.

Through prayer, reflection and the sounding of the Last Post, we paid our respects and gave thanks for the freedoms we enjoy today.
