As part of our weekly program, our children love visiting our community garden to help care for the plants, learn about nature, and develop a sense of responsibility for the world around them.
This week, our learning extended even further with a special excursion to Bunnings, where the children explored gardening supplies, asked lots of questions, and discovered new ways to help our garden flourish! πΌπΏ
These hands-on experiences encourage teamwork, environmental awareness, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for caring for our community.
We canβt wait to see our garden continue to grow! π»π±

π±π Excursion to Bunnings! ππ±
Today, we enjoyed an exciting excursion to Bunnings to purchase seeds for our winter vegetable gardens. Along the way, they explored the garden centre, identified different plants and vegetables, and learned about what is needed to help a garden grow and thrive.
The children carefully selected seeds for the vegetables they would like to grow and discussed what happens from seed to harvest. This hands-on experience supports their understanding of sustainability, healthy eating, and where our food comes from, while also encouraging decision-making, communication, and community connections.
We canβt wait to plant our seeds and watch our winter garden flourish over the coming months! π±π₯π₯¬

π¦π What a wild day at our centre
We had Raptor Reptiles visit us today and the children absolutely loved it. They got to see and learn about a range of reptiles up close and even had the chance to touch and hold some of them
There were lots of curious questions, brave moments and big smiles as the children explored something new and exciting. Experiences like this are such a great way to build confidence and spark an interest in the natural world
Thank you Raptor Reptiles for such a fun and engaging visit π

At Monash ELC, our walking excursions through the local community are a valued part of our program πΏ
As we walk together to places like Monash Park, the children take the lead in noticing the world around them, spotting cockatoos overhead, discovering spider webs, collecting leaves and feathers, and sharing their thoughts about nature.
These moments often lead to meaningful conversations about caring for the environment and understanding how we are all connected. Whether it is stopping to observe a tree or simply enjoying the sounds of birds along the way, our walks foster a strong sense of belonging, curiosity, and respect for the natural world π

From hands on craft experiences to delicious baking activities, our spaces have been filled with creativity, collaboration, and joy. The children have been exploring different textures, expressing their ideas through art, and building confidence as they mix, measure, and create in the kitchen.
These experiences not only spark imagination but also support fine motor skills, problem solving, and a sense of accomplishment π
We love seeing our learning environments come alive with curiosity and excitement every day!
