Our Under 14 Boys Futsal team showed great enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship at the recent Futsal Gala Day. After a tough start, they bounced back with a draw and a win, finishing strong. Well done, boys – your commitment and positive attitude made us all proud 👏

Engineers Australia and Transgrid hosted a special site visit to the Transgrid Wallgrove Substation to inspire girls interested in engineering and STEM careers.
There were talks from female Transgrid engineers - including GHS Alumni (Abarnika), guided tours of key areas, discussions on safety and teamwork, plus an interactive panel. A good experience for the girls!

Year 8 Japanese students had a fantastic day at the Japanese Tanken Centre in Kirrawee! They played team games, practised their language skills, and enjoyed delicious Japanese bento lunch. A fun and immersive way to learn about Japanese culture!

On Thursday, 21 May, six Year 12 students visited the Westmead Institute for Medical Research. They explored the life of medical researchers, met professors and PhD students, and toured labs in genomics, imaging, and virology. An alumnus of Girraween High School, Dr Joey Lai, demonstrated cutting-edge cancer research technology. The students also attended a seminar by Dr Archita Mishra on foetal microbiome development and her lab’s work.
Thanks to the University of Sydney for this valuable learning opportunity!
