Kidz Retreat

Kidz Retreat is a family owned and Childcare Centre located in Geraldton, Western Australia. All our meals are home-like cooked and very nutritional.

Here at Kidz Retreat we provide long daycare for 77 children aged between 3 months to 6 years, with four separate rooms, a Kindy House for our 4 year olds and a dedicated family room that is available for siblings to play together. We are well resourced with quality toys & equipment to meet all children’s needs. Our framework is play based and is centred around the individual interests of the chil

dren. We also incorporate incursions into our programs on a regular basis. As a family owned childcare centre, we are committed to ensuring our centre is well maintained at all times and focus on supporting our staff. Our team leaders are provided with paid (non-contact) programming time and all staff are provided with extensive training. We have an additional staff member who assists during busier times and offer above award remuneration, generous leave loading and additional financial rewards for long-term staff. Our standards are set very high at Kidz Retreat; Educators must be 19 years and over and all employees must undertake first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma training. Employees also agree at employment to undergo random drug and alcohol testing. We are a Sun Smart accredited Childcare Centre and all children are supplied with a bucket hat on their first day. Kidz Retreat has a dedicated Food Co-ordinator who follows an extensive Food Safety Program while she prepares a wholesome; warm cooked lunch and snacks onsite. The delicious smells coming from the kitchen are sure to tempt the fussiest of eaters! The centre proudly holds a 5 star food safety rating. We provide morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea as well as a late snack. These meals are provided every 2 to 3 hours and fresh drinking water is available at all times during the day. Our menus are low in processed sugar, fat and salt and are planned based on the Australian dietary guidelines and any cultural or individual requirements as necessary. We provide healthy food, but take care to ensure our meals and snacks also reflect our children’s tastes. We have a range of animals at our centre that we believe form a valuable role in a child’s learning and development. Caring for animals gives children an opportunity to learn how to be gentle, nurturing, show empathy, compassion, and be responsible in a caring role. Children are encouraged to handle the animals correctly and animal care skills such as assisting at cleaning and feeding times. Animals also decrease a child’s stress levels and anxiety, whilst meeting the emotional needs of children with their affection and unconditional love.

🎉💛 KIDZ RETREAT IS 13 TODAY! 💛🎉

Today we celebrated a very special milestone 13 wonderful years of Kidz Retreat! 🥳🎂

What started as a vision to create a warm, caring and welcoming place for children and families has grown into a beautiful community that we are incredibly proud to be part of.

Over the past 13 years, we have watched thousands of little personalities grow, learn, make friends, build confidence and create memories that will stay with them for years to come. 🥰

We are so incredibly grateful to our amazing educators and staff, past and present, who pour their hearts into what they do every single day. Your dedication, care and commitment are what make Kidz Retreat so special. 💕

To all of our Kidz Retreat families, thank you for trusting us with your most precious little people and for being part of our journey. We truly appreciate your support and the relationships we have built along the way.

And most importantly, to all the Kidz Retreat children, past and present, thank you for filling our centre with laughter, curiosity, imagination and so many beautiful memories. 🌈✨

🌸 Celebrating our amazing educators this Educators’ Day! 🌸

Today was all about celebrating the incredible educators who make Kidz Retreat the special place it is. 💕

Every single day, our educators show up with patience, kindness, care and so much love for the children. They nurture, teach, encourage, comfort, laugh, create, support and help our little ones grow into confident, capable individuals. 🌱✨

We wanted to take a little moment to say THANK YOU to our amazing team for everything they do, not just today, but every day. Their dedication and the difference they make in the lives of our children and families never goes unnoticed. ❤️

To make the day a little extra special, every staff member received a beautiful little gift box, made with so much love by Chantelle from The Windy Tide. Each box was thoughtfully put together and was such a beautiful way to show our appreciation.

And of course, we couldn’t celebrate without some delicious treats! 😋
A huge thank you to Flowvitality and Rigters IGA Durlacher for the beautiful food and to Cakes and Cupcakes by Anita for the yummy cookies!

We hope our team felt just how appreciated and valued they truly are today.

💙 National Pyjama Day 2026 💙

Today our educators and children came dressed in our favourite pyjamas to supporting children entering foster care.

A huge thank you to our amazing Kidz Retreat families for your generosity. Through your gold coin donations and gifts of pyjamas, clothing, nappies, underwear, books, colouring activities, puzzles, games and soft toys, we were able to create seven care bags for children entering foster care.

Our children played a very special role by helping to pack each care bag with love and care. They also painted, decorated and named a special teddy bear to include in every bag, hoping to bring comfort and a friendly face to a child during what can be a very difficult time.

These care bags were then donated to the Department of Communities, where they will be distributed to children as they begin their foster care journey.

We are so proud of our children for showing kindness, empathy and compassion, and incredibly grateful to our families for helping us make a difference in the lives of children who need it most.

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this special initiative. Together, we’ve shown that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. 💙🧸✨

🐰🐹 A big thank you Dr Gracie and Nurse Sam for making sure our animal friends are healthy! 🐹🐰

The children watched and learned as Flopsy the guinea pig had a health check, and Bluey and Bingo the bunnies received their health check, nail clip and annual vaccination.

It was a wonderful learning experience that helped the children understand how vets care for animals, what a health check involves, and how we can be kind and responsible animal carers.

Dr Gracie and Nurse Sam had a fantastic morning at Kidz Retreat daycare! 🐰🐹
Flopsy, Bingo and Bluey were star patients and we hope the kiddies had a great time!
