Following the reading of The Rainbow Serpent, Mrs Henderson brought Slither to school. Slither is a Stimsons Python and the Henderson's family pet. The students were provided with a safety talk about snakes prior to the experience.

Yesterday, all students got to taste some delicious food cooked by Dolly, our Canteen Manageress, and Dolly's Mum, Maureen. The stew and damper were delicious and enjoyed by all students in the school. Thanks, Dolly and Maureen, for sharing your talents, food and culture.

NAIDOC WEEK - YEAR TWO MUSIC
Miss Hewitson helped the Year Two Class to learn the Marrin Gamu song in Wajarri. This song was created to introduce Australians to the diversity and beauty of our first languages as Australia is home to hundreds of indigenous languages.

On Monday, the staff worked with CEWA Geraldton Consultants, Marion and Helen, on Aboriginal perspectives and culturally responsive pedagogy. Our day included a visit to Museum of Geraldton to view the displayed Aboriginal resources.

PUPIL FREE DAY
Yesterday was a Pupil Free Day. The Staff spent the morning working in the area of Aboriginal Education and the afternoon was spent continuing our work with the Fogarty EDvance initiative. Our day started with an Acknowledgement of Country and a Prayer. Some of our Aboriginal students led us in the Acknowledgement of Country, sharing their own story.
