Today, our school community was privileged to welcome Andrew Chin for a special performance. Students were encouraged to participate alongside him, and it was wonderful to see so many eager faces singing, performing, and embracing the opportunity. Thank you, Andrew, for sharing your talents and creating such a memorable experience for our school community!

Our Year 4 students recently enjoyed a special Retreat Day as they prepared to celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist. Throughout the day, they explored the meaning of the Eucharist through prayer, reflection, creativity and community. From learning about the Last Supper and visiting the Cathedral to sharing a meal together; the day was a wonderful opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of faith and prepare their hearts for this important milestone in their sacramental journey.

Today, our Year 2 and Year 6 students had the opportunity to participate in a mini golf clinic hosted by Golf WA. It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, learning new skills and having fun. Judging by some of the talent on display, we may have some future golfing stars amongst us!

The West Coast Fever Cup was filled with determination, teamwork and lots of smiles! 😊🏐 Our students gave it their all and had an amazing day representing our school. Well done, everyone!

🎉🌟 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗢𝘂𝘁 – 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟱: 𝗔 𝗪𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 🌟🎉

Our final day of Year 6 Week Out was another fantastic opportunity for students to learn, explore, and celebrate the experiences we have shared throughout the week.

The day began with a delicious breakfast at Dome before we made our way to the Geraldton Museum, where students participated in the Immigration Stories program, linking directly to the Year 6 History curriculum. Through stories, artefacts and personal accounts, students gained a deeper understanding of the journeys, challenges and contributions of migrants who have helped shape Australia.

Students then visited the Latitude Gallery to explore the Flotsam and Jetson exhibition. The exhibition showcased creative artworks made from materials collected from the Abrolhos Islands, highlighting important environmental messages about waste and sustainability. We were especially proud to see an entry by one of our own Year 6 students, Gus, whose creativity and talent were on display for the wider community to enjoy.

A visit to the HMAS Sydney II Memorial provided an opportunity for reflection and appreciation of an important part of our region's history before students enjoyed a well-earned lunch of pizza, followed by some delicious treats from Wondabake.

The afternoon was spent at the PCYC and Geraldton Youth Centre, where students rotated through a range of activities including laser tag, indoor volleyball, boxing and games. These activities encouraged teamwork, communication, resilience and confidence while providing plenty of fun to finish the week.

As our Week Out comes to an end, we are incredibly proud of our Year 6 students. Throughout the week they embraced new experiences, demonstrated respect and maturity, strengthened friendships, and represented our school community with pride.

Our Week Out is about much more than visiting different places. It is about learning beyond the classroom, developing independence, building connections, and creating memories that will stay with our students long after Year 6.

🌧️🔥🌿 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗢𝘂𝘁 – 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟰: 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 🌿🔥🌧️

Despite the wet weather, our Year 6 students enjoyed another memorable day of learning and adventure as part of Week Out.

Our morning began with a visit to the Chapman Valley Historical Society Museum in Nanson, where students explored local history and gained a fascinating insight into life in the Chapman Valley district. We extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated volunteers who generously opened the museum especially for our group and made us feel so welcome.

Students then travelled to the beautiful surroundings of Nukara, where they immersed themselves in a range of hands-on outdoor activities. Throughout the day, students worked together to build bush shelters, made and cooked damper over a fire, and created bush craft using natural materials collected from the environment.

While the rain certainly made for a muddy adventure, it did not dampen spirits! Students embraced the challenge with resilience, enthusiasm and a positive attitude, making the most of every opportunity and enjoying the unique experience of learning outdoors.

A special thank you to everyone at Nukara for their warm hospitality and for providing such engaging, educational and enjoyable activities for our students.

Another fantastic day filled with learning, teamwork, friendship and plenty of laughter.

🎨 Our talented Year 5 students have their Cathedral sketches on display at the Monsignor Hawes Heritage Centre!

Families are welcome to pop in and view these incredible artworks over the next week. Admission is free for children under 16 years of age and they are open every day from 10am-4pm.

A little late to the Facebook feed, but we couldn’t let the wonderful Pre-Primary Green Assembly go uncelebrated! Last week, our students delighted everyone with their performances of a poem inspired by Tiddalik the Frog and the ever-popular Galumph Went the Little Green Frog. Dressed in their frog costumes, they hopped their way into our hearts and had the audience smiling from beginning to end.
Congratulations to all of our merit award recipients, and a special mention to our SFX and Christ Award winners. We are so proud of you all. Well done!
