Wow! What a busy few weeks our students have had to end the term! Whether sharing our published writing, reading with our Buddies, taking part in the Staff v Student Basketball game, musical performances, STEM Challenges or being part of the Year 6D Assembly, learning is always fun!
Thank you to everyone in our school community who has contributed in any way to the smooth running of our School during this very disrupted term. We wish you and your families a safe and happy holiday and look forward to sharing more special moments with you in Term 3. ๐๐ค๐

Yesterday we were thoroughly entertained by the boys of CBC Fremantle showcasing their musical talents today as part of their Jazz Orchestra tour around the State's regional centres.
We were very fortunate to hear outstanding Bublรฉ-toned vocals, Armstrong-style trumpets, 'Bird-like' saxophones and we even had a go at our own 's**t!' The students were impressed by the varied solo performances and have been inspired to further develop their own musical skills to one day play in our own Concert Band or perform in our upcoming Music Festival in Term 3. Thank you for making us part of your tour!

Year 3 students were set a challenge to โsprinkle kindnessโ for a week as part of their learning in Health. The idea was based on one kind word or small gesture being able to change someoneโs entire day.
Each student drew a class members portrait and wrote things that were special about that person and then shared it with them. We then reflected on how it had made everyone feel to read these comments and could we make others feel this way by doing more small acts of kindness? Itโs safe to say that the Year 3 class was great (one could say fabulous) in small things!

Recently, parents and caregivers joined us for the Year Two liturgy. With a focus on forgiveness, students shared ways that we can support and care for one another at home and also in our school community. Another wonderful opportunity to have families celebrate together.
Sean Choolburra captivated all yesterday with his inimitable blend of traditional dance, didgeridoo, story, knowledge and humour as the staff and students celebrated NAIDOC Week.

A beautiful afternoon was had on Saturday as our Year 4V class celebrated their first Holy Communion. The word 'communion' means to be united with. For Catholics, we believe that in Holy Communion we are united in a special way with Jesus Christ. Fr Brenton Taylor spoke of the importance of always having Jesus by our sides to call on - alongside all those who joined in the celebration - our friends, families and teachers.

It was wonderful to have parents and caregivers participate in the Year Four Travel Expo last week.
Students created an informative travel booth to entice their peers and parents to visit their chosen European or African destination. As part of their learning, they have been researching the location, vegetation, animals, interconnectedness with Australia, sustainability, and culture and history of these countries. Another rich learning experience.

The first P&F Community Mixer was successfully held last week. Mums, Dads, Caregivers, and Grandparents had the chance to reconnect with one another in the afternoon sun.
Importantly, calories donut count at school events, and the treats were enjoyed by big kids and small. The Year 3 and 4 mixer is this Friday, 3rd June after school.
All freely brought to you by the P&F.
