The ๐๐ฑ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐บ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐พ๐๐ถ๐๐ (๐๐๐) ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ท๐ฒ๐ฐ๐, an Ochre Education initiative supported and funded by the ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐น ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐บ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป, provides a wonderful opportunity for school leaders working in priority equity contexts to connect, challenge our thinking and learn from one another.
Across the week, we visited NSW schools, heard directly from principals about their improvement journeys and explored what high-quality curriculum and effective instructional practice look like in schools supporting students with diverse needs and experiences.
I was also incredibly proud to represent ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น๐ฑ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ ๐ช๐ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ถ๐๐, sharing our experiences and learning alongside school leaders from WA and the NT.
For me, the most important part of this work is
Professional learning is most valuable when it translates into better experiences and opportunities for young people. The conversations, practices and ideas explored throughout the week have challenged me to think deeply about how we can continue to strengthen ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐บ, ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐พ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฆ โ ensuring that every student has access to the teaching and learning they need to succeed.
It was inspiring to spend time with school leaders who are navigating many of the same challenges, sharing what is working, being honest about what is difficult, and learning from each other.
