Faction Carnival
What a fantastic day!
Congratulations to every student who participated and tried their hearts out in their sprints and other games. Congratulations also to Fitzgerald on winning the Championship, the first in a while I hasten to add.
Special thanks to Mr Bradley for his coordination of seamlessly running carnival; to Mr G, for his MCG like surface and markings for competition; to the talking, walking, dancing banana peel (aka Mrs Murray) for her passionate, articulate and insightful colourful commentary.
Thanks also to all the GPS staff, from administration, to teachers/EA’s, auxiliary, including the wonderful cleaners (and apologies to anyone I’ve missed), not just for the day but for all the preparation, training and efforts in the lead up to Faction finale.
Finally as the P&C President it was so pleasing to see so many non-staff helpers on the day. We are cognisant and acknowledge you are very busy people and may not be able to sit on the P&C committee, but to come along and assist on these types of days is invaluable and very much appreciated by the whole of the GPS school community.
THANK YOU to all those parents, grandparents and caregivers that attended, supported and helped.
Finally on a more sombre note the skills, efforts and application of the parents ‘Leader Ball’ prowess was sorely tested and found wanting, basically abysmal. Thus, in preparation for next year’s leader ball challenge training will commence for 2026 on Wednesdays from 4-5pm on the school oval. See you all there

Attn Year 5 families! Keep an eye in your child’s bag this week for raffle tickets. If you have the capacity to sell the tickets to friends and family that would be awesome. P & C account details and other relevant details are attached in a letter being sent out with the tickets. 🙏

Next Friday 22 August the year 5 camp fundraising committee will be offering delicious hamburgers and more at the faction carnival. Tarts and Co coffee van will be joining us too so bring along you keepcup! 🙌
