Birth is so beautiful, sacred & powerful 🥹
In August I attended the amazing birth of Louie, and although he didn’t enter the world the way we had anticipated, his birth was undoubtably one of the most incredible births I’ve ever seen. Brittany approached me at the start of August at 36 weeks pregnant hoping to gain some extra support and have someone in your corner that was able to provide extra information and context as well as help advocating for her and her decisions in pregnancy and labour. In the 4 shorts week before her labour started, I worked hard to create a strong bond with Brittany to ensure she felt comfortable and confident with her choice to invite me into her sacred environment. It was an absolutely pleasure working with Brit & Shannon in welcoming their little man into the world. This is Brittany’s feedback from her experience having me as her doula: “Reaching out to Alana at 36 weeks was one of the best choices I could have made. Even with such a short amount of time before my birth, she immediately stepped in with warmth, reassurance, and professionalism that made me feel as though I had known her for much longer. She was not only an incredible doula but also made me so comfortable that it felt like having a friend during the birth.

Throughout those final weeks, Alana offered thoughtful guidance and knowledge that helped me feel confident and prepared. She was always available to answer my questions and made sure I never felt alone in the process.

When my birth/labour didn’t go exactly as planned, Alana’s calm presence and clear, supportive explanations made all the difference. Her steady reassurance and wealth of knowledge helped me feel at peace with the decision to move forward with a c-section, turning what could have been an overwhelming moment into one of confidence and calm.

Alana’s compassion, wisdom, and dedication shine through in everything she does.
