Philosophy
Our family and staff believe we can have a positive impact- not only on the lives of children, but on their families and the community. The philosophy of Turtle Cove is to:

Provide a secure, safe, loving and welcoming environment which promotes warm and positive relationhships. Encourage positive habits associated with play, rest, exercise, eating and toileting practices to ensure good health. Provide an enriching and spacious environment with ready access to natural materials such as water, sand, trees, dirt & grass (to enhance appreciation and love for the environment). Build self esteem by providing play based experiences to stimulate emotional, physical, social and cognitive development appropriate to the development age of the individual child. Assist in moral development and encourage the upholding of Christian values - showing kindness and consideration, forgiving and loving one another irrespective of gender or any other bias. Encourage work and play in an acceptable manner, to learn about fairness, take turns, share and respect the efforts of others. Provide an interesting and stimulating environment which is flexible in incorporating the needs, interests and skills of the Turtle Cove community. Increase an awareness of the community by inviting special visitors, going on excursions and introducing topics of interest. Enrich the lives of all children by respecting an individual's culture and providing multicultural experiences in the program. Ensure policies and procedures which protect and enhance the wellbeing of children are implemented and reviewed regularly. Provide an environment where children can make real choices about learning.

🌟 Meet the Team Monday! 🌟

This week, we’re introducing you to Ruby!

Ruby’s hidden talent? Having a full conversation with babies without them saying a single word!

From discussing how good lunch was to commenting on the weather, Ruby always has plenty to talk about.

Whether the little turtle is following along or Ruby is simply having a conversation with herself… we’ll let you decide!

One thing’s for sure — there’s never a dull moment when Ruby’s around!

🌟 Building Respectful Relationships at After School Care 🌟

Our After School Care children have been exploring the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and My Time, Our Place (MTOP) – Quality Area 1, with a focus on building respectful and reciprocal relationships.
Using our Floor Book, the children brainstormed what respectful relationships look and feel like across the different parts of their lives — at school, with friends, at home and within our After School Care community. Together, they explored how we can listen to others, show kindness, communicate respectfully, include others and value each person's ideas and feelings. 💬💛

This led to an important conversation about the relationship we have with ourselves. The children explored how the words we say to ourselves matter and how positive self-talk can influence how we feel, think and interact with others.

The children then created positive affirmations and personal goals, focusing on using encouraging language towards themselves and their peers. 🌈✨

It was wonderful to see the children sharing their ideas, reflecting on their relationships and recognising that creating a positive community starts with how we treat ourselves and others.

🌈 Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day! 🌈

As we come to the end of Early Childhood Educators’ Day, we want to take a moment to celebrate and thank all of our wonderful educators across our services.

Today is about recognising the incredible teams who show up every day with care, patience, creativity and dedication to support our children and families.

Together, our educators create environments where children feel safe, loved, respected and encouraged to learn, explore and grow. Through your teamwork, commitment and passion, you help give children the strong foundations they need for their future.

We know that early childhood education is so much more than what happens in the services. It is the relationships you build, the moments you share, the challenges you navigate together, the laughter, the learning, the celebrations and the countless little moments that make a big difference.

To all of our educators across every one of our services — thank you.

Thank you for the incredible work you do, for the energy you bring to your teams, and most importantly, for the care and commitment you give to the children and families in our communities.

We are incredibly grateful for everything you contribute, not just today, but every single day

🌟 Meet the Team Monday! 🌟

It’s Monday… so what does that mean?

It’s time to meet another wonderful member of our Turtle Cove family!

This week, we’re getting to know Kerrie — a woman who truly wears many hats!

You might know Kerrie from her visits to our centres, where she shares her knowledge through Protective Behavior's and Creative Arts.
But that’s not all! Kerrie is also part of our Wandina team and After School Care.

With so many roles across Turtle Cove, Kerrie is definitely one of those familiar faces you’re bound to see popping up in different places!
