🌟We are so excited that Alyse Williamson is joining the In 3 Minds team as a Autism Consultant🌟 With her extensive background in Education and Psychology as well as her academic focus on Autism, Alyse is well positioned to provide invaluable support to the Geraldton/Midwest area. She will assist families both before and after receiving an autism diagnosis, offering guidance to both families, schools and education and care services. Alyse's deep understanding of the NDIS also makes her an excellent resource and liaison for families and educators of neurodivergent children.

Have your heard about our Bush Kindy program for 3yr old children?
We are welcoming new enrolment's for the new school year. 🥳

📣 We are pleased to welcome new enrolments for our 3yr old Bush Kindy group commencing on the 10th Feb 2025

🦋 Kindy like it used to be in the good old days - the children will love having half a day to explore our wonderful natural back yard with new friends (and our chickens)

🐛 Discovery butterfly's and bugs (and fairy's) under the trees and bark

🎨 Paint - Draw - mould - sculpt with our Educators supporting open ended creations

👧🧒🏽 Our focus is nurturing emotional and social wellbeing, while learning valuable skills through play

Amy (from In 3 Minds Psychology Services) and I (Kate) will be running this session again in 2025.

"Trauma" is an experience that overwhelms an child/individuals capacity to cope, these can be ongoing events, or an individual distressing event.

We now know that Trauma also continues 'to live in the body', if the brain and body have not been able to process and heal, and this is where we can see behaviours that appear out of nowhere, shut down/withdrawal, outbursts, or any behaviour to attempt to get them away from the 'threat'.

We also know that Neurodiverse brains can process situations and experiences differently, what may be ok for a Neurudiverse brain, for example a lock down drill at school, can be quite a distressing event for a ND brain, and may need lots of supports to understand and process this (that they are actually safe).

We've put lots of information in this full day session, exploring Trauma and the complexities of, supports and resources, and hopefully spreading advocacy and understanding around Trauma, and how we can all help... 💞

🌿Trauma doesn't always look like trauma 🌿 Sometimes its the behaviours we see which can be confusing. Join us for our upcoming workshop, "Understanding Neuroception and the Human Response to Trauma," where we will explore the foundations of trauma and how it can show up in children and teens. We will break down the neurobiology of trauma to help you better understand these behaviours, while also addressing the relationship between trauma and neurodiversity 🌈

🌟This workshop is suitable for parents, carers, foster carers, and anyone working with children or young people who want to deepen their understanding of trauma informed care🌟
