Today our Dance Competition Team took to the stage at the Sydney Regional Dance X Competition and what an incredible result! 🏆

Our 21 students competed for the very first time and HopePoint placed second! We are incredibly proud of our dancers, who have worked so hard and rehearsed week after week in preparation for the competition. Their dedication, teamwork and enthusiasm certainly paid off. 🌟

A special congratulations to Rai B, who also entered the Impromptu Dance Competition and took out first place! What a fantastic achievement, well done, Rai! 🙌🏽

A big thank you also to Miss Georgia for her dedication, encouragement and all the work she has put into preparing our students for the competition. 🤍

Yesterday, year 3 to 6 students enjoyed an engaging visit from the Cleanaway kNOw Waste program, learning more about how we can all play a part in caring for our environment. 🌏🍃

Throughout the incursion, students explored how everyday materials can be recycled and reused, discovered the important role of composting and worms in recycling organic waste, and investigated how litter can impact our wider environment. They also learnt about making more sustainable choices when shopping, the impact of plastic pollution on our oceans and wildlife, and practical ways we can reduce food waste. ♻️

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to think about the small choices they can make each day to reduce waste and help care for our world. 🤗

Last Friday we had two students represent HopePoint at the NSWCIS Primary Athletics Championships, Boaz K and Mia I. 🌟

Boaz gave everything he had in High Jump, finishing 14th overall out of 30 competitors after clearing 1.35m.

Boaz showed incredible determination and pushed through to give his best on the day. We are incredibly proud of him for making it this far, giving it everything he had and representing our school with such courage and determination.

While Mia competed in both Shot Put and Discus. Mia finished an impressive 6th overall in both events, competing against a field of 30 athletes. With the two events running back-to-back, Mia had very little time to regroup after an error in Shot Put. Despite the setback, she showed incredible resilience and composure to refocus and produce a fantastic performance in Discus.

Discus: 23.99m – Personal Best

6th Overall out of 30

Shot Put: 8.56m

6th Overall out of 30

Finishing in the top six in both events is an outstanding achievement, particularly under the pressure of competing in back-to-back events. We are incredibly proud of the way she stayed focused, bounced back and continued to compete strongly.

We are all so proud of both Mia I and Boaz K for reaching the NSWCIS level. 🏆

What a fantastic morning celebrating our dads and father figures! 🤍💚 Our Year 6 students put our dads to the test with four fun challenges based on the four areas of wellbeing they have been learning about, Physical, Mental, Spiritual, and Social & Emotional wellbeing.

From a soccer challenge ⚽ and blindfolded LEGO building 🧱 to Family Feud Bible trivia 📖 and bobbing for apples 🍎, there was plenty of teamwork, laughter, encouragement and friendly competition!

We also heard an inspiring Father’s Day message, and our school choir performed “I See a Hero”. They sang beautifully and made the morning even more special. 🎶

Thank you to all our dads and father figures who joined us and helped make the morning such a memorable one. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
