Our Westcourt Year 9 Student Leaders led our Inclusive Community Gathering yesterday. It was a meaningful celebration of multiculturalism, belonging and inclusion. Through stories, reflection and shared experiences, students highlighted the many cultures, backgrounds and journeys that make up our SJC community. A highlight of the gathering was hearing from our ACC Soccer Team, who shared their family heritage and reminded us that while we come from different places, we are united as one team. We also recognised students who demonstrated outstanding teamwork, communication and positivity during Amazing Race Melbourne, celebrating both our Special Commendation Award recipients and 2026 Champions.

Students from St Joseph’s College and Parade College have just returned from an unforgettable Red Earth Cape York Immersion, a week filled with cultural learning, connection, challenges, and moments that will stay with them for life. This immersion offered students a rare opportunity to learn from First Nations knowledge holders, deepen their understanding of Country, and build friendships across communities. It will continue to shape them long after returning home. As one student summed it up, “I came home different, in the best way.”
