Today we took part in the National Simultaneous Storytime and at 11am with the rest of Australia we read the book Bowerbird Blues. Afterwards we started creating our own blue Bowerbird as group project.

Last week was science week and we conducted experiments at kindergarten. We hypothesized about what we thought would happen and then wrote down the results and discussed why that occurred. The children were all great little scientists thinking of lots of different ideas which was fantastic.

This week has been reconciliation week with this years theme being Be A Voice for Generations. We have been discussing with the children about how our first nations peoples have been treated in the past and how we now need to make sure that all people are treated with the respect and have their voice heard. We have read stories about the history of Australia and also read dreamtime stories about Bunjil the eagle and Warnarra the Rainbow Serpent creating artworks from these stories.

Today our kindergarten took part in the National Simultaneous Storytime reading the story The Speedy Sloth with over 2 million other children and people within Australia. We made cool sloth masks and got to see some real sloths at Singapore Zoo while we listened to the story.
