I Could be wrong, but this may be the first time jiu jitsu was shown on the front cover of a Martial arts magazine.

Carlos Gracie Jr (Passing) and Gordo (playing guard) come out to Torquay in 1995 to train jiu jitsu.
i remember Gordo helping me with low passing, he explained to me what i call layering today, moving from the feet to the knees to the hips to the pass, i was a white belt in my first year of jiu jitsu training.
i also remember Carlos Gracie Jr rolling with students and playing around with everyone, moving us around with no effort at all but also helping us understand jiu jitsu better.

it's been amazing to see the growth over the past few months, the attitude and respect the kids are showing for one another, the way the team is coming together to help grow each other's skills has been so great to watch. tonight we went back over layering the guard with a bunch of drilling / rolling and grip work to finish.

we also want to welcome all the new students to the academy from the kids in the 5-8 year old class and the new students in the 9 to 12 year old class
