Bound for an industrial roadway project in the Northern Territory, our team is fabricating a set of 8m and 10m-wide Height Clearance Bars (Group 2) designed with a dual-mounting arrangement - anchoring to an elevated walkway on one side and straight to the road pavement on the other.

When standard post or cantilever setups don’t fit the terrain, our Group 2 Height Bars are custom-built to bridge the gap across wide spans and complex infrastructure layouts.

Barrier Group was engaged to enhance pedestrian safety and traffic management along the exterior perimeter of a major hardware and home improvement retail centre.

Working to deliver a complete car park safety solution, Barrier Group supplied and installed a range of heavy-duty bollards, high-visibility yellow Skinz bollard sleeves with reflective tape, and line marking to delineate parking bays, including disability and shared zones.

The combined solution safeguards pedestrians on concrete walkways, protects the building’s lower structure from vehicle over-parking, and clearly guides traffic flow across high-throughput commercial areas.

As part of the Homes Victoria (Victorian Government) Big Build initiative, three new residential apartment buildings were nearing completion at 120 Ormond Road in Greater Geelong. Lythgo Civil Construction engaged Barrier Group to design, manufacture, and install a tailored safety solution to ensure the rear car park and outdoor stairways met strict safety and accessibility requirements.

Following an on-site assessment conducted by a dedicated Barrier Group Account Manager, an integrated safety solution was recommended to address several key requirements:

• Vehicle and asset protection: Wheel Stops were installed in general parking spaces to prevent vehicle overhang, with Heavy-Duty Bollards positioned adjacent to garden beds and pedestrian walkways to provide additional asset protection.

• Accessible parking compliance: To meet the requirements of AS 2890.6:2022, Disability Blue Shared Zone Bollards were installed within the shared zones adjacent to accessible parking spaces, complemented by Disability Blue Wheel Stops to clearly define and identify accessible parking areas.

• Stairway accessibility: Tactile Ground Surface Indicators (TGSIs) were installed throughout the precinct near stairways to improve navigation and support compliance with AS/NZS 1428.4.1:2009.

This integrated approach provided residents with a safer, more accessible, and compliant environment, delivered efficiently through Barrier Group’s signature turn-key process.

Machine Guarding is revolutionising the way workplaces protect their employees.

This industrial-grade safety solution is engineered to effectively separate pedestrians, machinery, and material-handling vehicles - including forklifts - within busy operational environments. Our Industrial Safety Fencing (ISF) machine guarding system doesn’t just separate; it provides a robust, physical barrier that shields your personnel and assets from potential hazards, including the risk of reach-over, reach-through, and reach-under incidents.

Our showcase of recent machine guarding installations highlights every aspect of product design, engineering and manufacturing that goes into delivering safety solutions: making sites safe whilst keeping operations running.

As Australasia’s leading turn-key safety solutions provider, Barrier Group designs, manufactures, and installs safety infrastructure tailored to the unique requirements of each site.

When Biogass Renewables required a solution to warn truck drivers of overhead power lines before entering a restricted area, Barrier Group was chosen to come up with a solution. A dedicated Account Manager conducted a comprehensive on-site assessment to determine the most effective approach.

Based on the site’s overhead clearance requirements and environmental conditions, Height Bars with Hanger Beam – Group 2 were specified. Designed for commercial and industrial applications with large overhead spans, Group 2 Height Bars provide a robust warning system for high-clearance environments and are engineered to comply with AS/NZS 2890.1:2004, making them well suited to exposed sites and demanding operating conditions.

To suit the site’s uneven ground levels, the system was custom manufactured at our in-house manufacturing facility, ensuring an accurate fit and straightforward installation. Each height bar was also supplied with custom “DANGER OVERHEAD POWERLINES – MAX VEHICLE HEIGHT 4.3M” signage, delivering a clear visual warning to approaching drivers and helping reduce the risk of costly vehicle strikes and infrastructure damage.
