At-School Music

Anyone from the general public is welcome to attend our mid-year student tuition concert on Monday 30 June.

There'll be student performances on piano, guitar, and drums across the night along with scattered teacher band performances involving Andrew and Patrick.

Big stage, big light show, and a talented group of young musicians in one of the regions best venues!

This is our after-school hours space in Geelong West. There are two rooms for tutoring, plus a waiting room. It’s a house on Hope Street, so it feels more like learning at home rather than in a purpose-built facility.

All lessons are focused on course books and note reading. Kids work hard, so it’s really not that relaxing for them—come in ready to concentrate. That’s why we have a chess table to help them get in the zone beforehand!

South Geelong Primary School!

Music tutoring is coming to the school during school hours starting from Term Four next week.

This photo was taken above the Library/Art room, opposite the big glass window. There is an incredible touch of history throughout the old Library building and classrooms, and we are glad to have the opportunity to include our service in the South Geelong Primary heritage.

Our photographer, Ric, is in the second photo with us at the front office. This is the third school he has worked with us at, once a year since 2022. He has practically become the third member of our touring music tutor band!

Andrew was utilising the 5/6 room this week while the children were attending camp. This arrangement provides a refreshing change of scenery and allows for movement throughout the school.

Drum lessons are available for students of all ages. The snare drum for younger students is angled to prevent rim strikes. Drumming requires coordination rather than strength, so please feel encouraged to participate.

End-of-year exam bookings are being submitted this week. We anticipate guitar, piano, and drum assessments. Keep up the excellent work, everyone.

Piano, guitar, and drum lessons are all actively underway during the third term. Andrew utilises small chairs in the classrooms to promote better posture and facilitate proper guitar handling. Students are encouraged to sit close to the ground for optimal positioning.

When kids learn to play piano or guitar at school, they usually have lessons one after another. This means they get to see other students who are also learning an instrument. They can quickly catch up with these classmates and find things they have in common, even if they don't usually talk to each other.

Piano lessons are available at Wallington Primary School. Andrew uses the old piano in B Block along with this keyboard here in the classroom.

Since students are accustomed to learning in the classroom every day, it could be just as suitable an environment for piano tutoring as any other.

Andrew is now tutoring across two days at Manifold Heights Primary. Thank you to all the day ones for sticking with it, it's great to be around a little more. There are still available lesson times this term, follow the website link if you're considering music lessons.

Andrew and Patrick both work as tutors at St. Therese in Torquay. It's the only school where they both teach together. They have a lot of love for St. Therese, so if you see two clones sporting yellow lanyards, feel free to say hello!

We have a waiting room in Geelong West for our after-school lessons. You can sit inside and listen to vinyl records on our highly overdone turntable setup. We have music from Oasis, Paramore, and Frank Carter, or you can bring your own vinyls. Otherwise, feel free to bring your laptop, phone, or a book.
