(spill the) positivi-tea mindfulness art workshop

The first session of this online group workshop happened last night, and was so wonderful.

I provided some information on the benefits of affirmations and the science behind them, before we participated in a meditation activity focusing on listening to the subconscious to uncover our individual affirmation.

It was so wonderful to hold space for the participant to explore what they needed, and how this might look in colours and shapes.

We then created an art project using the affirmation shapes and colours as a guide. The purpose of the art piece is to cement the affirmation on paper, while also providing an opportunity to explore what it might mean through the art making process.

After the session, homework was set to put the piece in a prominent place where it can be repeated daily.

A lovely participant shared that the affirmation they found in the session was different to the one they thought would come up, which was absolutely magical.

(spill the) positivi-tea is a low effort way to reap the combined benefits of meditation and art making for mindfulness from the comfort of your own home! I’ll be hosting another session next month, so keep an eye out on my socials to see how you can participate!

What is Creative Therapy?
& how can it help you 🫵

Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy (HICAT) or Creative Therapy, is a holistic approach to the healing of mind, body and spirit.

Using a range of creative modalities, such as art-making, dance, music, movement, meditation, dream work and more, a creative therapist guides you to take a proactive approach in your healing and wellbeing.

Creative therapy harnesses the many benefits of the creative process, such as:
🎨 non-verbal expression of emotion
🎨 catharsis through creating
🎨 accessible to all
🎨 authentic self-expression
🎨 engaging in play

Creative therapy can assist in aiding feelings of anxiety and depression, enable the individual to work through and process trauma, and provide the tools to be the leader in your own healing in everyday life.

If you’d like to hear more about how you can work with me soon, and receive free tips, tricks and activities, make sure to:

Hi, I’m Molly!

Welcome to MOHARA Creative Therapy, a place for all things holistic healing and wellbeing education through creativity. Here’s a bit about me, and how I’d like to help you!

I’m a 25 year old artist living on wadawurrung lands in Geelong, VIC, with my lovely partner and our 3 cats, Lenny, Ralph and Clyde.

I recently complete my Diploma of Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy through , and am currently studying a Masters of Holistic Counselling.

Prior to taking the journey towards a career in Creative Therapy, I obtained a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) in 2020. I’ve always wanted to have a career that helps others, and realised that Law was not the way I wanted to do that anymore.

During the pandemic, Art became a method of holistic wellbeing in a time of great uncertainty. It gave me space to explore and express how I was feeling, and continued to be a great support throughout health diagnosis and other emotional trials.

Creative Therapy was suggested to me by a friend when I expressed a desire to pursue a career in art, without the need to pump out and sell artworks. It’s a way for me to give to others what art has given to me, a safe and free space to create, to exist without judgement, and to be the leader in my own health and well-being.

So welcome to my little page where I aim to do just that. Here I’ll provide free activities and information, as well as the opportunity to work with me in a group and 1:1 capacity.

If you’ve read this far and are just as excited for this journey as I am, drop an emoji that describes how you’re feeling today in the comments 👇 here’s mine: 🐥

About the workshop:

The Art of Intuition invites you to explore your experience of a visualization meditation through art making. Using your intuition, you will create a mental sanctuary that can be used as a safe place in times of stress or anxiety. You will then affirm your creation by drawing it out of your minds eye and into a physical piece of art.

The Art of Intuition draws on therapeutic techniques, healing the inner child through the creative process. This workshop teaches important meditation skills that can be utilized outside of class in everyday life.
The focus of this workshop is on the mark making process and creating freely, rather than technical art skills and a structured final piece. A range of materials will be provided to encourage creative experimentation and intuitive play.

A safe space open to participants of all ages and skill levels
