Bringing Maths to Life at St Kevin’s!
Have you noticed the Maths Learning Walls in your child’s classroom? These are more than just displays—they are active learning tools that support students to think, learn, and grow in mathematics.
Our Learning Walls make learning visible by showcasing key concepts, vocabulary, worked examples, and problem-solving strategies. Anchor charts play an important role on the wall, capturing essential ideas and strategies that students can refer to during lessons to support their understanding and independence.
We also think of the Learning Wall as the “third teacher” in the room—alongside the classroom teacher and students. It provides ongoing guidance, prompts thinking, and helps students make connections in their learning.
By regularly using the walls, students build confidence, use accurate mathematical language, and apply strategies independently.
We’re proud to be creating classrooms where learning is visible, purposeful, and empowering for every student! 🌟

What a wonderful (and busy!) week it has been at St Kevin’s! From the energy and teamwork on display at our Athletics Carnival, to the magic and creativity of our Prep Fairy Tale Day, there has been so much to celebrate. The fun, learning and joy in between has truly made this week a special one. ✨

What a magical day we had at our Prep Fairytale Day!
A special thank you to our creative Prep teachers for bringing learning to life and making engaging curriculum connections through stories, imagination and play.
Thank you also to our parents and families for the effort you put into the children’s fantastic costumes.
