YIROL, South Sudan Orphanage and Schools

Over the years St Brigid's and Catherine McAuley, have played a part in equiping the South Sudan School in Yirol, with computing equipment; laptops, iPads, projectors, chairs and desks. This has been donated to provide much needed and appreciated resources, to ensure the children have opportunities to learn skills that will see them keep up with the changing world of technology.

This initiative has been driven by Mac in our ICT department, and supported whole heartedly by Paul & Belinda Bennett, and current leadership across St Brigid's and Catherine McAuley. ☺️👏

END OF YEAR MASS

Last week we held our last End of Year Mass as St Brigid's Catholic School.

It was a moving ceremony, and a wonderful celebration of a school with proud history and community spirit.

It is the end of a chapter, but we are excited to see what the next chapter has in store for Catholic Education in the Gawler region, with the amalgamation with Xavier College.

St Brigid's Generosity

It is truly heartwarming to see how generous our St Brigid's community is.

St Brigid was a woman of hospitality and a friend of the poor. She continues to inspire our community to give to those who find themselves in need at this time of the year.

We are grateful for the generosity of our families in giving these gifts and food items that will be distributed through St Vincent De Paul's in Gawler.

𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘, 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗦 | As part of Xavier College’s commitment to provide a consistent message we will have one dedicated page for all three campuses. Xavier is one College, and we all share a common interest in our students’ learning experience. With one page we can share the wonderful things our students are achieving at all levels of their education with the wider community. Over the Christmas break the St Brigid’s Catholic School, Evanston page will be merging with the Xavier College South Australia page. As a follower of St Brigid’s there is nothing you will need to do, you will automatically become a follower of Xavier College.

Ceili

Throughout the year, students can choose to partake in individual or group music lessons from independant instrumental teachers.

Yesterday, we held our annual Ceili performance, which gives these children the opportunity to show us how clever they are and the new skills they have developed.

We were treated to a wonderful display of talent, and hard work by our students across all year levels.

Performing at any age can be a daunting task, but we are so proud of our students and their courage. 😃

Arch D Radio, Podcasting Awards

Congratulations to our student nominees for the Podcasting Awards held last Sunday.

Only the top 5 in each category from 32 schools across Adelaide get nominated. Over the last three years, our students have been nominated in at least one category. Ivy, Harper, Noah and Samuel were each nominated for awards in their respective categories. Well done for making the top 5!

Also, congratulations to Mr Mannella for his Staffcaster award! For recognition of his dedication and support to the program over this past year.

Our CESA Family Faith Formation team has created an interactive Advent Calendar you can download here: https://www.cesa.catholic.edu.au/advent.

A different activity each day will guide adults and young ones alike to learn facts about Advent, pray, sing, create, bake, visit, donate and prepare in the lead up to Christmas Day.

The 90's

The decade of many changes!

A reminder our St Brigid's, Xavier College, community celebration will be held at St Brigids on the 24th of November, 11:30am.
We will have old memorabilia on display, so we would love to see as many old scholars, members of the community in attendance.
