| YEAR 5 EXPLORING THE SCIENCE OF LIGHT | In our recent Explore lessons, Year 5 students have been diving into the fascinating world of light. They’ve been investigating how light behaves through reflection and refraction, using mirrors and torches to redirect beams around the classroom—even lighting up the back of a torch without shining directly on it!
Students also explored how light travels through different materials, observing the changes that occur when it passes through glass and water. It’s been a hands‑on, engaging way to deepen their understanding of how light interacts with the world around us.

| BUILDING EMPATHY IN YEAR ONE | In their recent Resilience Project lessons, our Year One students have been learning just how important it is to recognise and understand other people’s points of view — a key step in developing empathy.
To practise this, students took part in an activity focused on empathetic listening. They worked with a partner and used their focused eyes, quiet lips and listening ears to give their full attention. Learning to listen in this way helps children show they truly care about the thoughts and feelings of others.
Students also watched a short clip called “Hey, Little Ant”, which invited them to consider both the boy’s perspective and the tiny ant’s point of view.
We’re so proud of our Year Ones as they continue to grow not just academically, but emotionally too!

| YEAR 4 MATHS FUN | In Year 4 Mathematics, students have been exploring elements of space through grid maps while also consolidating their number facts. What better way to practise these skills and strengthen their understanding than through hands-on games like Battleship and Multiplication Takeover? We love making learning fun while building important mathematical skills!
