Is there a better pairing than street food and ice cream?? 🤤

Come join us tomorrow as we welcome TWO brand new vendors to Gatton Campus: 🍔 Zero Forks Given and 🍦 Dreamtime Ice Creamery

For your cutlery-free 👐 lunch you absolutely must try local team Zero Forks Given, who have crafted a bespoke menu just for us! It’s all street food, no fuss. Recommended by a local Gatton staff member, we are so excited to be welcoming Zero Forks Given to Gatton Campus for the very first time! 🎉

After your street food feast, of course, you’ll be ready for a delicious dessert option, Dreamtime Ice Creamery, who are travelling 🚗 all the way from Inglewood just to serve us on campus! With plenty of different ice cream flavours and sweet treats 🍭🍧 to choose from, we are certain you won’t be disappointed! We are so pleased to have the opportunity to welcome and support a regional small business.

It is well and truly spring-time at Gatton campus and we have been welcoming many new members to the Gatton Farms family. 💜🐴

Our beautiful mare "Gatton UQ Valerie" became a Mum last Sunday, with the arrival of her first foal, a chestnut c**t by industry stallion "Stars and Stripes" – both mare and foal are doing great!

Valerie is sired by the late "Gatton UQ Academic"…perhaps this c**t could carry the genetic line on for his greatly missed grand sire "Academic".

Now just over a week old, this cheeky boy is ready to be named. We've had a few suggestions from our team… but we wanna know what you think! 🧐💭

👇👇Add your suggestions down below in the comments and be sure to vote for any favourites you see too! 🙌

Words cannot 'espresso' how much we love our resident coffee Queen - Regie Narara 👑

If you've 'bean' feeling low, a visit to Regie at the ☕ Gatton Coffee Pod is just what you need to 'perk up'! She keeps us all 'grounded' and means a 'latte' to this campus community.

This International Coffee Day let's return our love to Regie in the comments 🫶 - she truly keeps this campus running with her daily dose of positivity and reminds us to take life one cup of coffee at a time.

What happens when universities, governments and communities come together to advance equity outcomes?

That was the focus of UQ's Equity in Action Solutions Showcase at Queensland Parliament.

From outreach programs that inspire future students, to research informing policy, regional partnerships and initiatives that support student success, the Showcase highlighted the many ways UQ is helping shape Queensland's future.

The event also reinforced The Queensland Commitment and UQ's long-term commitment to expanding educational opportunity so that talent and opportunity can meet, regardless of background or location.

Here at Gatton campus, our research and education in agriculture, food and veterinary science, place us at the heart of The Queensland Commitment. As a regional campus, we are proud to help lead these important conversations and create greater opportunities for communities across Queensland.

Gatton Campus Director, Susan Frost, and SVS School Manager, Clare Schonfeld, represented UQ Gatton Campus at last week's regional breakfast event, where Bernard Salt AM shared his insights into the importance of agriculture for the future of Australia and explored the trends shaping the future of regional communities.

These events are always a valuable opportunity for us to connect with the community and understand the role that our campus plays within the growth in our area. We are proud to know that UQ students graduate with the skills, knowledge and expertise to address important environmental and agricultural challenges and create real change for our communities. 🌿
