AgSight is a small private company working in research and technology for agriculture in Australia.
We supply the SOLVITAโ„ข technologies which measure the cycling of carbon and nitrogen in soils and help farmers make informed decisions about soil health and crop productivity. Solvita soil tests measure microbial activity, labile organic nitrogen, and aggregate stability. Additionally, the Solvita Compost Maturity test is an essential tool to ensuring the proper use of recycled organic amendments.
Talk to us today about your farming and research requirements.

The Centre for Recycling of Organic Waste and Nutrients (CROWN) was established in late 2017 as part of the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences (now the School of Agriculture and Food Sustainability), enabled by seed funding from the Queensland Department of Environment and Science.

The establishment of CROWN was prompted by the push to reduce and divert organic waste from landfill into agriculture and horticulture, the drive to find ways of value adding animal manures and reducing nitrogen losses in the manure supply chain, and the desire to improve resource use efficiency, maintain agricultural productivity, reduce negative environmental impacts and move towards a circular economy for organics. By advancing the processing of organic residues and determining the benefits of using recycled organic products, CROWN supports both, the organics recycling and the agricultural / horticultural industries.

Vaughan Levitzke PSM, Circular Economy Advisory

Beyond the buzzword(s) - Systems thinking for a circular economy for organics

There is no better person than Vaughan Levitzke, a trained ecologist and former Chief Executive of Zero Waste SA and then Green Industries SA, to talk about systems thinking for a circular economy for organics. For him, the circular economy for organics encompasses landscapes, habitat, farming, food, regenerative, as well as design, manufacturing and consumption.

Vaughan Levitzke, an ecologist by training, was Chief Executive of Zero Waste SA and then Green Industries SA for 17 years. His 43 years in Government saw him work across natural systems, technology application and transfer and the circular economy. His role in the development of the circular economy has embraced legislation, regulation, incentivisation, infrastructure investment, policy development, collaboration and innovation. In 2016 he received the Public Service Medal, for outstanding public service in waste management reform and policy. Since retiring in 2021, he is focussed on consulting and volunteering his expertise where he sees it can make a difference and large impact, for example as a member of the national Circular Economy Ministerial Advisory Group reporting to the previous Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek.
