ACACIA'S HISTORY TOUR

Acacia class recently enjoyed a fascinating walk around Ganmain, exploring the townโ€™s history and landmarks. They visited several churches and discovered that two still have working bells. The Catholic churchโ€™s beautiful stained glass windows were a highlight for everyone!

Our students learned where old shops once stood, and were surprised to learn there was even a movie theatre here in the past. They also discovered Ganmain once had a hospital and Mrs Smith shared that her grandparents were born there!

It was eye-opening to see how shops and buildings have changed over time, and notice the history in Ganmainโ€™s streets. Everyone had a great time and loved learning more about our townโ€™s unique story together.

KINDERGARTEN TRANSITION

Our Kindergarten Transition program kicked off again last Friday with lots of smiles and fun as students continue becoming familiar with Ganmain Public School.

After reading and learning about birds and enjoying some bird-watching in the sunshine, the students painted and decorated their own beautiful birds to take home.

It's hard to believe that our 2026 Kindergarten students started their transition days not long ago โ€” and now theyโ€™re our number one helpers!

PUBLIC EDUCATION WEEK

Thank you to all the family and community members who joined us for our Public Education Week Open Day, Assembly, and Morning Tea last week.

As you can see from the video, being part of Ganmain Public School means being part of a genuine community.

Not to be outdone by Acacia (see yesterday's post showcasing their performance), our Banksia students took on another Kenn Nesbitt poem and absolutely smashed their delivery of ๐”น๐•–๐•Ÿ๐•›๐•’๐•ž๐•š๐•Ÿ ๐”น๐•๐•š๐•Ÿ๐•œ ๐”ป๐•ฃ๐•’๐•Ÿ๐•œ ๐•€๐•Ÿ๐•ง๐•š๐•ค๐•š๐•“๐•๐•– ๐•€๐•Ÿ๐•œ.

After their fantastic performance of Shrek in 2025, Banksia students have become seasoned performers โ€” a bunch of naturals on stage! Well done, Banksia!

To learn the poem is one thing, but to face your fears and nail the performance in front of a crowd is a fantastic effort!

HELPERS PLEASE!

Coolamon's Up2Date Art Exhibition is a major fundraiser for our school and we'd love your help to make it run smoothly!

If you are able to do any of the following, we'd really appreciate you clicking on the link to volunteer for a 2-hour shift.

- 22nd and 23rd of August - Unpack and/or hang artwork.
- 29th of August to 13th of September - Front Entry (Welcome visitors and assist guests at front door during art exhibition).
- 13th of September - Packing up artwork.

Each shift on the Front Entry requires 2 people so grab a friend or family member and sign up!
