Are you a motivated bookkeeper who loves numbers, organisation, and helping businesses succeed? We’re looking for a Bookkeeper with a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping (or currently studying) to join our growing, dynamic team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build their bookkeeping career in a supportive environment with opportunities to learn, grow, and make a real impact.

Your duties may include:
Day-to-day bookkeeping and data entry
Processing accounts payable and receivable
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Payroll processing and superannuation
BAS preparation
Liaising with clients and team members.

You’ll be a great fit if you:
Hold a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or are currently studying
Have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Are organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks
Have good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
Are comfortable using accounting software (Xero and MYOB)
Are keen to learn and grow within a team environment

Super proud to announce that our very own Director, Julie Goleby of Smart Bookkeeping, Payroll & BAS got her name up in lights as the WINNER of the Professional Bookkeeper of the YEAR - Practice Owner Award at the 2025 Institute of Certified Bookkeepers Luca Awards last night! Here is her speech which was well received and this great achievement was celebrated with many champagnes 🍾🥂.
Thank you so much! I’m honoured, humbled, and slightly shocked because most people don’t get an award for reconciling the bank feed at midnight, night after night!
This award means the world, not just to me, but to every bookkeeper who’s ever stared down a spreadsheet like it owed them money.
We are the quiet powerhouses behind thriving businesses.
We catch the errors no one sees, reconcile accounts that defy logic, and somehow stay calm when a client says,
‘I think I lost all my receipts… but I bought a llama?’
Can I claim GST on that?
Bookkeepers are part detective, part therapist, part magician. We turn chaos into clarity, numbers into narratives, and panic into plans. We don’t just balance books—we balance trust, time, and the occasional crisis over GST or PAYG Instalments.
So tonight, let’s raise a glass to the ledger legends, the payroll pros, the BAS battlers, and the EOFY warriors.
We may not wear capes, but we do wear the smug smile of someone whose accounts reconcile to the cent.
