Today we joined millions of children and educators across Australia to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime 2026 📚✨

This year’s story, Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller, brought excitement, laughter and important messages about courage, teamwork and determination. The children loved coming together to share in the joy of reading, storytelling and connecting through a shared Australian story.

Experiences like National Simultaneous Storytime help foster a love of literacy, imagination and belonging while showing children the magic that books can bring when shared together. 🦘⚽💛

This week, the children began exploring important road safety messages as part of National Road Safety Week. Through discussions and visual prompts, the children reflected on safe practices such as holding an adult’s hand near roads, crossing at intersections, and listening carefully for traffic before crossing. These conversations encouraged the children to share their own experiences and build awareness of how to stay safe in the community.

International Day of Families! The seniors shared what makes their families special and explored how every family is unique. Through discussion and creativity, the children created special family “books” celebrating the important people in their lives and the love they share.

Giraffes Can’t Dance inspired meaningful discussion about feeling included and recognising individual strengths.
Children engaged in a guided giraffe drawing experience, carefully listening to each step before adding colour and detail using crayons and water paint.
This experience supported creativity, confidence and a sense of pride in their unique achievements.

✨ Mirror, mirror… what do you see? ✨

Mirror play is a simple yet powerful way to support children’s learning and development. As children explore their reflections, they begin to recognise themselves, build a sense of identity, and develop self-awareness.

Natural resources in the mud kitchen provide endless opportunities for creativity and exploration. Leaves, sticks, soil, and water invite children to mix, create, and experiment while developing confidence and problem-solving skills. Experiences like this encourage collaboration and a meaningful connection with the natural environment.

Children recently participated in STEPS Vision eye screening, a simple and non-invasive check that supports early identification of potential vision concerns. Regular vision screening helps ensure children can engage confidently in play, learning, and daily routines. Families will be supported with information if follow-up is recommended.
