The Fitzgerald Biosphere (and most of Western Australia) is alive with the colour and vibrancy of wildlfowers.
Here are some of the beauties we’ll be seeing on the Mamang Trail on the west side of the Fitzgerald River National Park.

During our two days in Ulgii we got to witness regional Naadam (national holiday usually celebrated in July) in Ulgii! Wrestling, horse racing and archery are the ‘three manly games’ competitions - and the whole town celebrating in traditional ways wearing their best traditional costumes. Extraordinary. 😍🇲🇳
The festival has its roots in the time of Genghis Khan, when they were used to test the skill of warriors and celebrate any victories.

Our Mongolian Team in northwest Mongolia: It takes a lot of people to support our Mongolia Walking Adventure - we have an amazing team on the ground. From the drivers who get us safely through the rough terrain to and from the Tavan Bogd National Park, to the different cooks we have had over the years… but making sure everything is done, packed, coordinated and understood is the job of our local guide, for the last 5 years this has been Khaynar.
I am so grateful for his tireless support and energy. He accommodates all our western foibles and has been a dream to work with in the demanding environment where our guests are out of their comfort zones.
This last tour was his last.
He’s going to pursue his business dreams in Almaty Kazakhstan but I am sure I will be seeing him again when he comes home to Ulgii to visit his family.
His father Tserik (far right in the second pic) coordinates all the equipment and logistics for the 9 day walk. He takes care of all the drivers and makes sure all the camels turn up when we need them.
