CLASSICAL FOUNDATIONS TEACHERS INTENSIVE 2027! 🌀

Advanced Training for Experienced Pilates Teachers! (2026 Sold out!)

Even with years of experience and qualifications, many teachers tell me they feel like beginners when it comes to classical Pilates principles. You know the exercises, but crave understanding of the underlying system that makes it all make sense.

This intensive is designed specifically for qualified teachers who want to add foundational depth to their teaching toolkit.

Here’s what one of our CF26 graduates shared a month after finishing:

“I’m seeing myself as a facilitator of their own mind-body connection, rather than the director of the experience I want them to have. My classes feel more collaborative and less draining on my energy all round.”

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN ✨
* Deep understanding of classical sequencing and why it works.
* Classical exercises across lineages.
* Movement biomechanics essential for teaching.
* How to adapt classical exercises for different bodies, injuries and conditions.
* Multi-level teaching strategies for mixed ability groups.
* Exercise deconstruction skills: learn the original exercise first, then adapt with intention.
* Practical tools you can use in your classes straight away.

Stop ruling exercises out. 😩

“That’s contraindicated” gets said like it’s settled science. Never load the spine like that with osteoporosis. Never let a hypermobile client go near end range. Full stop, no exceptions. See ya later bye.

Most of the time, that’s not true. What’s actually being described is a consideration, not a contraindication. Something to think about and adjust for, not something to avoid altogether.

Rule out a whole exercise category based on a blanket rule, and you take away something genuinely useful for the person in front of you.

The real question was never “can they do this?” It’s “what do they need in order to do this well?”

Next time something makes you pause, try asking a different question. Not “is this contraindicated?” but “what do I need to consider here?”

What’s something you were told was contraindicated that turned out to just need more thought? Tell me below 👇

Here’s an awesome teaching moment with my friend Tracey.

What we’re sorting through is “rules we’ve given ourselves”. In this case, the rule was about the exercise being over once our feet came away from the poles.

We learn rules from people we learn from. Training programs and many teachers tell us that there’s one way and one way only. No questions, seeyalaterbye.

But what if we don’t fit the rule?

In a lot of cases, most actually, we don’t fit. And this can be super frustrating because we can’t progress on our own.

What we’re figuring out here is how to move past the rule in a way that promotes learning and discovery rather than “I’m telling you….”. Being told is just not helpful. Being allowed to make up your mind no matter how long it takes IS helpful.

Have you given yourself and your clients rules? (Eg, the neutral pelvis rule, which I used to hold onto for dear life). Have you been able to walk away from those rules?

Let’s hear them in the comments below 👇🏼

If you’re in Melbourne on Nov 14, we’ll be debunking a tonne of rules at Sunny Moves Seaford and we’d bloodyblove to see ya ✌🏽💙

Ever wondered why classical reformer sequencing starts lying down and ends standing? It’s not just about warming up the body. There’s a nervous system logic underneath it too, swipe through for the full picture 🧠

I’ve had the absolute pleasure of being involved in some rad workshops and trainings in 2026 so far.

Workshops in no particular order but equally awesome:

Sunny Moves Seaford ☀️
The Pilates Expo 💪🏼
Canberra Pilates | Reformer, Mat & Tower 🤸🏻‍♀️
Denmark Pilates 🧠
Yin Pilates South West 🧘🏽‍♀️
The Pilates Co 🌊
Slo Method Classical PTT 😜

Plus EVERYONE who’s been there.

I love doing this but I love you more ✌🏽💙

Any guesses where I’m headed next?

Eve is so great. She completed her Matwork, Reformer & Wunda Chair with us in Bali and has since gone on to Fascia Therapy and is now studying to become a physiotherapist. She is one of the funnest people I know. If you’re in Düsseldorf you should really go to her classes!

Here’s some words from Eve about how she got to love Pilates enough to become a teacher 😉

“I first discovered Pilates on a beach in Nicaragua during my year of traveling. I joined a class almost by chance because the surf conditions were bad, and I quickly realized how amazing it made me feel.

A few months later, while traveling through East Africa, I felt overwhelmed and was craving stability and something meaningful to learn. Pilates came back into my mind, and around the same time, a physiotherapist I had met in Nicaragua recommended Jess and the Slo Method in Bali. I originally started the training purely for myself because I wanted to deepen my own practice. Becoming a teacher happened naturally after falling in love with the method.”

We’ll be sharing more of Eve’s story in our newsletter.

Send me a DM if you want to be on it ✌🏽💙

We spend so much time adding to our teaching. More anatomy, more cueing, more variations. But sometimes what changes everything is learning to see the system you already have more clearly.

Classical Pilates has an internal logic that connects every exercise to every other one. When you can see it, nothing feels arbitrary anymore. Including the exercises you’ve been quietly avoiding for years.

Five things a classical foundation will actually teach you. Swipe to see.

And if you’re in Perth, I’m running Classical Concepts for Modern Reformer on Sunday 28 June, 10am to 12pm. DM me to grab a spot.

02/05/2026

Thank you thank you for all of you who squashed into our room to move through some Classical Concepts together.

Thanks for giving it a go, asking awesome questions and being genuine good people.

I’ll give a longer blow by blow account of the days’ events when I get home 💙✌🏽
