Albany 2026 - the first of the WA Bicentennial 2026-27-29-31 celebrations for Albany, Fremantle, Perth & Western Australia โ€ฆ.. congratulations to the Menang people : closing the gap.

The Great Southern Noongar Festival will bring culture, creativity and community to Albany this week, with a packed program planned for the Alison Hartman Gardens.

The festival from 11am to 3pm on Thursday will have live music, cultural dancing, Indigenous art, damper making and activities for children.

2029 will mark 200 years since the establishment of the Swan River Colony, a significant milestone in the Stateโ€™s history but not the beginning of its story.

As the Bicentenary approaches, Western Australians have the opportunity to reflect on our collective history, define what makes our State so unique today and consider the future we aspire to.

Your feedback will help inform an inclusive and respectful statewide program of Bicentenary initiatives leading into, throughout, and beyond 2029.

Another fabulous & poignant FB men from 2014 - a decade on, and did the Government ever give consideration to doing it again? Or will they drive that road / rail link through the heart of Albany & Anzac forever ..... in advance of the WA Bicentennial 2026-27-29-31 celebrations : eight PMs, six Premiers et.al all knew.
