Recently, our Year 10 Aspiring Leaders participated in a Leadership Development Day with Iona Presentation College at the Swan Yacht Club, designed to strengthen relationships, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to lead within the CBC Fremantle community.
The day began with a public speaking workshop, Finding Your Voice, presented by Adrian Alenberg. Students explored the importance of effective communication and the confidence to express themselves authentically.
Students then rotated through a series of practical leadership activities. Miss Baldock challenged students to collaborate and solve problems as a team, highlighting the importance of communication, teamwork, and listening to others. Mr Stack took leadership onto the water in canoes, encouraging students to reflect on different leadership styles and how effective leaders adapt their approach to suit the situation. Mr Winnan focused on goal setting, helping students develop a shared vision while recognising the strengths each individual brings to a team.
Whether working towards a common goal, navigating challenges on the water, or learning to communicate with confidence, students were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and support one another.
At CBC Fremantle, leadership is not defined by a title, but by service, integrity, and the ability to positively influence others. The day provided a valuable opportunity for our student leaders to continue developing these qualities as they prepare to lead by example within our College community.
