At WOTT we believe welding is for everyone. 🔥

It does not matter what your background is, how old you are, what qualifications you have or whether you have ever set foot in a workshop before. If you are curious about welding, we will teach you everything you need to get started.

We offer welding courses designed specifically for women who want to learn this skill from the ground up in a safe, supportive environment with small groups and expert guidance every step of the way.

From a half day introductory session that gives you your first real taste of what welding involves, to a full day intensive course that sets you up with a deeper understanding of the craft and the confidence to keep going — there is a starting point here for everyone.

Let us save you from redoing that bathroom in three years. 🔧

Tiling looks straightforward. It is not. And the mistakes that people make — the wrong adhesive, the wrong grout, poor surface prep — are the ones that show up eighteen months later and cost a fortune to fix.

Our Home Maintenance 104: Simple Tiling course is here to make sure that does not happen to you.

Small groups of no more than six people means you actually get to ask questions about your specific project. Because we know that everyone’s bathroom, splashback or floor is different, and a one size fits all answer is rarely the right one.

Spring is coming, and your backyard knows it. 🪴

Our Women Only Paving Masterclass is running Sunday 23 August and this one is strictly limited on spots.

If you have been thinking about ripping up those old pavers or starting a paving project from scratch before the warmer months hit, this is exactly the course you need.

We cover everything. Choosing the right materials, preparing your surface properly, laying patterns, cutting pavers to fit and finishing the job to a standard you are actually proud of. Whether you are starting fresh or fixing what is already there, we teach you everything you need to know to get it done yourself.

No experience needed. Small group. Hands on the whole time.

Spots for this one are very limited and it will sell out.

Perth artists, how much have you spent on framing this year? 🎨

Professional framing is expensive. And when you are trying to get your work into galleries, markets and exhibitions, those costs add up fast. Our Artist Day courses are designed to change that.

On Saturday 15 August, Women On The Tools is running three professional framing courses designed by JC, who has spent years working in and with art galleries across Perth.

Simple Picture Framing | 9am to 1pm
Learn to build a conventional timber picture frame from scratch. For works on paper or textile up to 40cm x 40cm. Leave with your artwork framed and ready to hang.

Make a Floating Frame | 10am to 1pm
Perfect for canvas or textured and 3D works. Build a floating frame that protects and presents your artwork without anything touching its face. Exhibition ready before you leave.

Make a Stretcher Frame | 1:30pm to 5:30pm
Learn to build your own wooden stretcher frame and stretch canvas onto it professionally. Take home a finished 40cm x 40cm canvas ready to paint on.

Each course is $205 plus booking fees — a one off investment that could save you thousands in framing costs over time.

Our last Artists’ Day sold out. Spots are limited and Saturday 15 August is coming up fast.

Looking for the perfect way to wind down your Sunday? 🦆

Our Women Only Woodcarving course is running Sunday 23 August, 2pm to 5pm — a three hour afternoon session that is equal parts skill building and genuinely relaxing way to end the weekend.

Woodcarving is the craft of using a knife and hand tools to carve wood into shapes and sculptures. No experience needed. No expensive equipment required. We provide everything you need.

By the end of the afternoon you will go home with your very own hand carved creation — and a new hobby you can pick up anywhere, anytime, with nothing more than a knife and a comfortable chair.

At WOTT we offer a range of introductory carpentry courses designed from the ground up for complete beginners. ⚒️

No experience, no tools, no prior knowledge required. Just a willingness to show up and give it a go!

Choose your project and build something real:

A carry caddy — the perfect half day introduction to the workshop and your first taste of carpentry skills.

A bookshelf — a full day course where you build something you will actually use every single day.

A garden bench — a full day build that is more versatile than you think. A plant stand, a hallway bench, extra seating, a step for the kids. Whatever you need it to be.

A raised garden bed - a full day course that teaches you how to build for outdoor conditions.

All courses run in small groups of no more than six. All tools and materials are included. Our instructors are with you every step of the way.
