When we bring self-kindness to our personal development journey, it totally changes the game. So much 'self improvement' is pushing ourselves forward, from a rejection of right now.
When we begin with the patterning that who and how we are, right now, isn't good enough, all action flows from self-rejection.
It's possible to learn to take action, learn to grow and evolve, from loving self-kindness.
For the die-hard, 'go hard or go home' personal development junkies, this can be hard to take. It sounds soft, it sounds like nothing will actually get done (and if you didn't have to sweat bullets, have you really achieved anything?). I have come up against this identity often in my work, and wrote about it once in a post entitled, "What happens when the Go Getter needs to rest?"
If you think about a pregnant woman (because let's be honest, this is creation, growth and evolution in it's essence) does she grow the healthiest baby, and the most resourced motherhood-self by 'going hard'? Or does nature function optimally with a regulated nervous system, sleep, nutrition and ALIGNMENT?
We can grow our lives with self-kindness. And if you're ready to stop the battle of growth, and land in the nourishing soil of ALIGNMENT, I'm here to help.
Kindness is an active practice - a choice you make in real time.
Every moment you choose kindness and communication, you strengthen your relationships, your resilience, and your sense of self.
It’s not softness. It’s skill.
Drop a 🩵 if you’re open.
