💛🌻 R U OK? DAY 2026 🌻💛

R U OK? Day is coming up this Thursday 10 September, a reminder that that life doesn’t just happen on one day of the year. Life happens every day, and so should our conversations, our check-ins, and our support for one another. 💛

If you notice someone who might be struggling, remember the 4 simple steps:

1. 💬 Ask R U OK?
Start the conversation and let them know you’ve noticed something might be going on.

2. 👂 Listen
Take the time to listen without judgement. You don’t need to have all the answers, sometimes being there is enough.

3. 🤝 Encourage Action
If someone isn’t OK, encourage them to take a step that might help, whether that’s talking to someone they trust or accessing support.

4. 💛 Check In
Don’t forget to follow up. Checking in again lets someone know that you genuinely care and that they’re not alone.

It doesn’t need to be complicated. Whether it’s a friend, classmate, teacher, family member or someone you haven’t spoken to in a while, taking the time to ask, listen without judgement and show that you care can help someone feel supported and connected. 🌻

This R U OK? Day, let’s look out for one another, start genuine conversations and create a school community where everyone feels valued, connected and supported.

And we have some exciting activities planned to help us connect, have fun and spread a little extra kindness around our school. ✨

👉 Swipe through the slides to see what’s happening on R U OK? Day, as well as professional support services you can contact.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please remember that you don’t have to go through it alone. Support is available.

We encourage everyone to get involved, bring a friend, and take a moment to check in with someone. Not just on R U OK? Day, but any day. Because checking in shouldn’t be a once-a-year conversation. 💛

Ask R U OK? Any Day.
You never know who might need to hear it. 💛🌻

// KELiS @ FHS 2026 //
Frankston High School was honoured to host the Koorie Emerging Leaders in Schools program this week. First Nations students from a dozen local schools gathered together on Bunurong Land for a day of workshops run by First Nations Elders and Leaders. The day kicked off with a cleansing smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country by Uncle Shane Clark, followed by students hearing wise words from Aunty Helen Bnads, OAM. Students then rotated through a variety of workshops on leadership and cultural connection run by Bayside Health, Gellung Warl, Weenthunga and HeadSpace.
Here’s what some of our students had to say about the day:
>>“KELiS is great to be a part of because I can meet new First Nations Peoples and learn how connected a community can be” – Jack Zach, Year 10.
>>“KELiS is a great community to be a part of because it helps you connect to Country” – Aaliyah Dann, Year 7.
>>“The most interesting thing I learned today was how different people perceive culture” – Jack Lonergan, Year 10.
>>“One thing I learned about leadership today was to be confident and take the first step, even if it’s a small step” – Aurora Cox-Williamson, Year 10.
>>“Spending time with other Mobs is loads of fun” – Aydia Lonergan, Year 7.

💜🏳️‍🌈 Wear It Purple Day is this Friday 28th August 🏳️‍🌈💜

This year’s theme, “Colours of Courage,” is a powerful reminder that courage isn’t always found in grand gestures. Often, courage is shown through the everyday choices we make, standing beside others, asking for support, speaking up, and challenging unkindness.

Wear your splash of purple and help us celebrate the individuality, strength, and power of LGBTQIA+SB youth. 🌈✨

Let’s show our rainbow young people that they are seen, supported, valued and celebrated, not just today, but every day. 💜

👉 Swipe to see what activities we have happening at Frankston High School this Friday.
