What an incredible morning we had celebrating all things BOOK WEEK at Mahogany Rise Primary School! 📖💫

Our students (and staff!) absolutely embraced this year’s theme, bringing their favourite book characters to life with some truly creative, colourful and imaginative costumes! 🦸‍♀️🧙‍♂️🧚‍♀️🐻👑

It was wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate the joy of reading, storytelling and imagination. ❤️📚

Our 3/4 cohort are absolutely loving the Core Knowledge unit - Animals & Their Classifications 🐒🦍🐻🐯🦁🐘🐨

Students have had the opportunity to learn about a range of animals, followed by having a nominated animal to build a diorama habitat ⭐️

An excursion to Melbourne Zoo has been organised by Mrs G and Miss Swayn to further consolidate their learning! This is planned in the last week of Term 3. 🥰 It has been great to see students showing so much enthusiasm and enjoyment in this learning. 🧠

National Science Week is an annual celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), encouraging students to explore how science helps us understand and shape the world around us.

To celebrate, our students have been putting their creativity, problem-solving and engineering skills to the test with tower-building challenges using Play-Doh and matchsticks, and chickpeas and sharpened matchsticks! 🏗️

Students have been designing, testing and redesigning their structures, learning that engineering is about trying, learning and improving.

It has been fantastic to see students collaborating, sharing ideas and thinking like real engineers! 🌟

Get ready to discover a fantastic range of books for every age and interest! Whether your child loves adventure, mystery, animals, sport or picture books, there's something for everyone.

Every purchase made at the Book Fair helps support our school by providing new books and resources for our students. It's a wonderful way to encourage a love of reading while giving back to our school community.
